>The Mafia CEO Is My Alpha Mate?>My Mate Is My CEO Boss?
My Mate Is My CEO Boss?
I placed my phone back inside my purse and closed it. Looking out the window, I thought about my mate, Sebastian and how much I wanted to see him again. I needed to find him no matter what. As I was thinking that, my mind went back to last night's breakup with Cameron. I was still so shocked that he and Sierra betrayed me like that. I also wasn't sure if I should take revenge or just stay away from them.
Everyone knew that I was the kind to stay away from trouble because I was the good girl. So for now, I would rather stay away and take revenge later once I was done with finding my mate. The car stopped, pulling me out of my thoughts. I looked directly outside the window to see the company's building right outside. I opened my purse and pulled out a few dollar bills then pushed them towards the cab driver.
The driver took them from me with a smile on his lips, "Have a nice day."
"Thanks, you too." I replied, smiling back as I closed the purse and placed my hand on the door handle to flicker it.
I opened the door and climbed out before pushing the door closed. Rushing through the building's glass doors, I ran towards the elevator on the left just as the doors started closing. I managed to slip in just as the doors closed and pressed the 15th floor's button. The five or so people in the elevator gave me weird looks, probably because I looked so out of breath and out of my element. And that was exactly how I was feeling, but I hoped that the boss wouldn't see me that way.
The elevator doors opened and I took in a deep breath then let it out before walking out into the hallway and took the turn on the right. I wasn't surprised to see so many people in cubicles while others were walking around. Was everyone so organized that they would arrive to work so early? Well, that was good etiquette and that meant that the boss was probably in. I was a news and entertainment writer in this large, business company.
There were also other writers and a manager that was supposed to be our immediate boss. Then there was the owner of the company and CEO, many didn't know his face because he prefers to avoid the crowd. He also hardly shows up to interviews about his business. But there were some pictures of him on news and entertainment magazines. So people do know what he looked like, but they know more about his company than his face.
However, everyone knew his name, Sebastian Wolfe. He has been working so hard to build a company from scratch. His dad died early on and the family business went bankrupt. However, he started this business while in College and now, he was one of the biggest billionaires in New City. As I was thinking that, I remembered how my mate's name was also Sebastian.
My gaze immediately moved to my inner wrist and I used the fingers of my left hand to trace his name. I sighed and my wolf sighed with me, if only I could see him right now. My wolf and I would feel complete. I looked up and made my way to the cubicles. The people in the open office were all looking at me with curious looks as some whispered amongst themselves. I ignored them and continued to my cubicle.
It was no. 12 as it was stated from the acceptance email I got from the company. However, I stopped when I heard my name being called out, "Kat Mason!"
I turned around to see a slim woman that looked to be in her forties spotting a ponytail and dressed a black lady suit. She had a stern look on her face as she looked at me with her arms crossed against her chest. I knew that she was the manager and our immediate boss, so I smiled at her and said, softly, "Good morning, Ma'am."
"You are late, on your first day." She stated in a firm tone of voice.
I nodded, looking concerned, "I know, I'm so sorry, I had such a rough night."
"I don't care what happened, but you can't be late again or there will be consequences, understood?"
My face fell as I realized that she wasn't a sympathetic or understanding boss. I could also tell that she wasn't a werewolf. I hope that she wouldn't give me a hard time, "Yes, I understand."
"Good." She bit out and turned around just as someone that I didn't expect to see walk through the door of the open office.
It was Sebastian, my mate from last night. He was dressed in a grey suit that looked great on him, it hid his tattoos except the ones on his hands and neck. He looked just as hot as he did last night, but this time, in a sophisticated way, not a rugged way. Two women and a man were following him and I guessed that they must be his assistants or body guards.
He stopped in his tracks just as his dark eyes met my hazel ones. I felt drawn to him as we stared into each other's eyes while standing a few metres away from each other. My wolf was urging me to run to him and hold him because she was so happy that we found our mate again. But I knew that I couldn't do that here, so I tried to get her to calm down.
'Calm down, companion.' I said to her in my head.
'I can't! Our mate is here!' She replied to me in an excited voice. I saw Sebastian's lips tug up into a smile as if he could hear my wolf's words.
"Quiet down, everyone! The boss is here!" The manager yelled over the chatter of the office and everyone stopped what they were doing to face him.
"Good morning, Sir!" They all chorused.
Sebastian finally took his eyes away from me as his smile dropped and moved his gaze to the rest of the people in the room. I glanced around too and saw the manager giving me an odd look together with some others. It must be because they saw the boss and I staring into each other's eyes like we were a couple. I couldn't believe that I didn't notice that he was Sebastian Wolfe last night.
He had looked rugged and not someone that was a CEO, especially with his tattoos and bad boy look. I was also so preoccupied with my breakup that I didn't even think that he might be Sebastian Wolfe.
