Chapter 10 Meat On The Chopping Board
"I've eaten my dinner already," Taylor said quietly, feeling that the smile on her face was about to fade.
"The dinner is not important, but I hope Assistant Wood can be fully in charge of my order." Wence thought for a while and felt that he shouldn't insist on the meal.
As long as she took the order, she was the meat on his chopping board and would be all his to be dealt with.
"Mr. Johnson, I'm very sorry. I'm really busy lately. Even if I take your order, I'm afraid I won't be able to guarantee the design quality. This is not in line with our studio's philosophy. In fact, Happy Summer has many designers who are much better than me. I believe that Mr. Johnson will definitely find one among them who fits your standard."
"Assistant Wood, I think you are the one that fits my standard the most, and fits my taste the most." He blinked ambiguously, and finally added, "I mean, your design fits my taste."
Taylor was speechless.
She really wanted to slap herself to death! Why did she say anything about fitting his standard anyway?!
"I'm really sorry then. I really do not have enough time to take charge of so many works." Taylor leaned slightly and apologized.
Upon hearing this, Wence was obviously angry, which could tell from his face.
He looked straight at Taylor, with complex emotions in his eyes changing back and forth as if he was a little moody.
There was clear desire and inevitable cruelty in his eyes. Seeing that, Simon clenched his hands into fists subconsciously.
Just when he was thinking about whether he should directly punch Wence's face right now, or find someone to ruthlessly destroy the happiness of his lower body at night, Wence suddenly laughed heartily.
"Since Assistant Wood is busy, then I'll pick another designer." He looked very easy to be talked with and laughed out loud, "If you are available later, I hope we can have close cooperation."
Taylor almost rolled her eyes when she heard the word "close." But since the man suddenly gave in, she was slightly relieved.
"Thank you, Mr. Johnson, for your understanding, and I wish we will cooperate later." She nodded and smiled lightly.
"Okay, President Kint, I would have to bother you to recommend me the best designer in your studio." Wence smiled and turned to look at Simon.
"My pleasure." Simon also smiled politely.
"Then I'll leave Assistant Wood to her work." After looking at Taylor meaningfully, he walked into the elevator with a big smile.
Until the display indicated that he had reached the first floor, and after confirming that the elevator door would not open suddenly, Taylor blinked and looked at Simon, "He is such a fine one to talk?"
"I think--" Simon stroked his chin, pretending to be mysterious, "He must be plotting something!"
"So, what do you think he would do?" Taylor raised her eyebrows and walked toward the office.
"I have no idea." Simon tutted, "So I'm thinking about whether I should disable him in the dark."
"As a diabolical one, he must be surrounded by bodyguards. President Kint, I think it might be a bit difficult for you to fight with them with your thin arms and legs." Jane refuted him with disdain as she took Taylor's arm affectionately.
"How is it possible?! I am also a muscular man!" Simon was unconvinced and rolled his sleeves high. When he finally couldn't lift them up, he poked the stuck sleeves and said proudly, "Look, this is what we call muscles! Great muscles! And my thighs are thick, and my lower limbs are super strong!"
"I didn't see any muscles, but I saw the developed fat." Jane had no intention to hide the disgust in her eyes, "Right, Taylor?"
"You have good taste." Taylor nodded in agreement.
"Hey, don't you mean what you say! These are obviously muscles! Don't you believe me? Fine, I will take off my clothes now and give you a chance to worship my biceps!" Simon was unhappy with their reaction, pulling his sleeves and was about to get off.
"President Kint, we are in public. Please pay attention to your image. Moreover, we are really not interested in your flesh." Taylor couldn't help but laugh out loud to see him wanting to prove himself eagerly
"Taylor, how can you treat me so cruelly?" Simon suddenly took a deep breath.
His expression was extremely sad, his tone pitiful, "You have already seen my body, alright? How can you not admit it? I--"
"Stop it!" Taylor twitched the corners of her mouth and shook her goosebumps, "Please be normal! Your lunch is on me. I'll treat you with boiled beef, okay?"
"Then, I'm going to tell the chef to buy the best wagyu to make it!" Simon's eyes lit up, and he smiled triumphantly.
Jane looked at him and shook her head with disgust.
He was such a foodie! No wonder he had failed to chase after Taylor for three or four years!
This afternoon, it was the dessert time of Bauhinia Kindergarten every half month.
The little chef of the kindergarten would teach the children to make the simplest desserts and then share and taste their products together.
Children could also pack the fruits of their labor and take them home so that their parents could have a taste of their work.
In the sunflower class, Katherine pouted her mouth when she looked at the children who surrounded the baking teachers and kept asking questions.
It was just the simplest egg tarts. All they needed to do was just pouring the mixed batter into the ready-made egg tart crust. Was is it worth their excitement?
"Why don't you learn to make egg tarts?" A boy in overalls stepped forward and looked at the new classmate who always put a long face in front of him.
"Not interested." Katherine walked to a quieter corner, sat down on the tatami, and picked up a book casually.
"Why don't you learn to make egg tarts?" The little boy followed up as if he was reluctant to end their conversation like that, so he asked again.
"..." Katherine continued reading without looking up.
"Why?" The little boy licked his lips and asked for the third time.
"Are you a repeater?" Katherine raised her head impatiently, frowning slightly, "Why does it have to do with you?"
The little boy looked at his new classmate, who was with a displeased face, being stunned for a moment, and then pouted his mouth, "Purr," he raised his head and cried, "Purr! Purr!"
Seeing the classmate whose tears and nose were flowing together, Katherine had disgust in her eyes. She did not hesitate to drop the book and walked outside the classroom.
Emma Brook, the chef who was teaching other children softly, froze for a second, then she dropped the custard in her hand immediately and walked quickly to the crying child, asking gently, "What's wrong, Ken?"
"She doesn't answer my question." The boy sobbed and pointed at Katherine's back, "She is annoying."
Hearing this, Katherine, who had already walked out the door, looked back at him and curled her lips.
These kids who knew nothing but could only freak out were the most annoying ones!
Emma, however, was stunned to see her delicate flexible slender eyes.
Nice eyes!
And, she even felt a little familiar somehow???
