Chapter 4 Husband and Wife

"That's enough." Jim Smith, who hadn't said anything before said, "Don't mention the divorce again. Smith family has never had a precedent for divorce. Sofia, if you have any grievances, you can tell us, and the elders can seek justice for you."

Sofia lowered her head and didn't speak.

"Let's have breakfast." Old Mrs. Smith said to ease the atmosphere.

After breakfast, Sofia returned to her room's cloakroom and took off her housecoat. She was only wearing a white lace vest and was about to change into her clothes when Henry walked in. He took a look at Sofia, and then he walked to the other side of the cloakroom. He took off his clothes and put on his shirt.

"Come here and help me tie my tie." Sofia, who had changed her clothes and was about to go out, turned around hesitantly and walked in front of Henry. She looked at the color of the shirt Henry was wearing, and then picked a tie of the same color for him and helped him tie it.

"OK." Sofia's actions were so neat that she not only helped Henry tie his tie, but she even helped him put on his jacket. However, Sofia didn't leave in a hurry but looked up at him slightly, "I'll move out today."

Henry's expression didn't change, but Sofia, who had been married to him for many years, noticed the flicker of displeasure in his eyes just now.

"We're still husband and wife." Henry's voice was low, hinting at his anger and warning.

"Soon we won't be." There was no expression on Sofia's face, and her voice was flat without a hint of rising or falling. She looked down at her watch and reminded him, "You have a meeting this morning and you'll be late if you don't leave now."

Henry stared at Sofia with his thin lips tightly pursed. If it were anyone else, they would have been scared to death by Henry's gaze, but Sofia seemed calm.

Henry pressed his hands against Sofia's shoulders and with a little force, he pressed her against the wall, leaving no gap between their bodies that were pressed together.

"Don't challenge my patience. If you're doing this for Nancy Andrew's sake..." It was rare for Henry to explain, but he was interrupted by Sofia before he could finish his words.

"I don't want to know about your affair with her." Sofia interrupted Henry somewhat eagerly, "I've always been very clear about why we got married in the first place, and I've also told you that I've only temporarily occupied the title of Mrs. Smith, so now it's time to return it to its rightful owner. I've asked your brother to prepare the divorce settlement. I know you won't give William to me, so I hope you won't stop me from seeing William after the divorce. That's my only request."

Sofia looked up at Henry's gloomy appearance, pushed him away a little harder, and then walked out of the cloakroom with an expressionless face.

Henry moodily punched the cabinet next to him. It was true that Nancy's sudden return to China had left him a bit at a loss, but he hadn't forgotten that he was married. In fact, even if Nancy had returned, he had no intention of divorcing Sofia or even starting over with Nancy.

"Dad." At this time, William appeared at the door of the cloakroom and looked at Henry somewhat cautiously, "If you divorce my mother, can you let me live with her?"

Henry looked at the child who looked similar to him in front. Although he was his son, they didn't have much interaction, let alone a deep father-son bond.

"What do you think?" Henry coldly asked William back. He saw that William didn't say anything and walked out of the cloakroom by his side.
