Chapter 5 Mommy, Don't Abandon Me
Jenny was so shocked that she disregarded this was Sean's office. Striding up, she scooped the kid up, "Hey, what's wrong, kid, are you alright?"
Apparently, he didn't look alright.
Short of breath, the kid got a flushed face, clenched his fists, gritted his teeth, and couldn't utter a sound.
Although without the experience of taking care of children, she knew they were more vulnerable.
Any careless mistake might lead to grave danger.
What should she do?
While holding the child, she took out her cell phone to call Sean.
Like an ant on a hot pan, Jenny sweated, but Sean didn't answer the call for some reason.
This was how he practiced guardianship?
He was so irresponsible that such a little kid was left in the office unattended!
Why did she meet such a man? He was irresponsible and gay!
At such a critical moment, she couldn't find Sean and had no time to get mad. Carrying the kid, she rushed to the elevator and went straight down.
Waiting outside, Shirley was surprised to see her, "Miss, what..."
Jenny didn't have the time to explain and urged anxiously, "Talk to you later. Now stop a car and go to the children's hospital."
"But..."
The lady went to Mr. Roger for her marriage issue. In the end, she got in and came out like this. Probably, she didn't even see the man.
She was really worried about Jenny.
"Who's this kid? You should leave him to his parents or the employees of the company like the assistant, secretary, or whatever, but we have business..."
Her dad's case was urgent, so was her wedding. But even if it was the death penalty, there was still a review period of two, three months. This kid, however, might lose his life for a delay of a minute.
Not familiar with Roger Group, she also didn't see many people along her way up the 77th floor. Where could she find anyone?
"You heard me, get a car!"
Shirley had to hail a taxi and headed to the nearest children's hospital.
Only after reaching the hospital and sending the kid to the emergency room did Jenny feel relieved.
Since Sean still couldn't be reached through any phone calls, she had to wait outside by herself.
After a while, a doctor came out and took off his mask, asking, "Who is his family member?"
With no families here, Jenny had to walk over, "I am."
"Your son is diagnosed with serious illness and needs immediate surgery. The cost is about one million yuan, and please prepare it promptly so that we can arrange the surgery. Here is the letter of confirmation..."
One million yuan?
Shirley was struck dumb and whispered, "M... Miss, we should stay out of it. With Mr. Lane's money frozen, you don't have a million under your account..."
Jenny arched her eyebrow.
Grabbing the confirmation letter, she signed it hastily, "Alright, I'll get the money right away. Please arrange the surgery immediately."
Following her words, she pulled Shirley to hurry away.
In the emergency room, the little one heard the sound of the doctor returning, got up quickly, and slewed his eyes, "Uncle Leon, how was it?"
Dr. Lucius looked back for a glance at the leaving figure and got an inexplicable feeling.
The little one didn't notice it. Tilting his head, he made a face, "Uncle Leon, what do you say? Will she spend one million to save me?"
After a moment of consideration, he continued, "I think this sister can match my daddy..."
Before Dr. Lucius could answer, the door was suddenly pushed open. Standing there, Jenny looked at them with aggressive eyes.
In fear, the kid hastened to lie down, but it was too late. Jenny already saw it.
"I'll give you the answer, no. We're strangers, and I'm not Mother Teresa. Besides, you lied to me. No doctors would make irresponsible remarks without doing any instrumental examination."
While speaking, Jenny readily tore off a micro bug that was stuck behind the door just now, "And your dad is Sean, right? Now I no longer plan to marry him. I have no interest in such an irresponsible man abiding by no contract."
Following her words, she grabbed Shirley's hand to turn away.
She didn't really mean to cancel the marriage with Sean but wanted to have a sincere talk with him. After all, if Tracy was speaking the truth that they hooked up, it would be pointless for her to marry him.
She preferred to figure out his intention through a talk and then planned accordingly.
To the little one, she deliberately made such remarks from which he could learn a lesson.
The kid was stunned to the point that his eyes stopped moving. Wow, the way the sister talked... was so cool!
As the richest man and a heartthrob in Country C, his daddy, Sean Roger, was admired by countless women who would die for a word with him. Somehow, such a man was dumped!
Wait, it seemed he went too far.
With a carp flip, the kid jumped off the operating table and hastened to catch up, "Sister!"
Jenny was a little dazed. Although the child was cute... she couldn't trust her life to them like that.
"Alright, I should go, deliver the message to your daddy..."
The kid immediately panicked and held Jenny's leg like an octopus. His tears fell instantly, and he cried out loud, "Mommy, don't abandon me, don't leave me behind, boohoo..."
Attracted by his cry, many on-lookers gathered around. Among them, there were doctors, nurses, as well as patients and their relatives holding drip bottles. They started to clamor comments, "Ah, what is this? Nowadays, a mom can be so irresponsible!"
"Anyhow, she shouldn't leave a child in the hospital. What a sin..."
Shirley explained hastily, "It's not like that. This is not the child of my lady..."
But the kid continued crying bitterly, "Mommy, I'll listen to your every word and will not be picky with food. Please don't leave..."
Out of the crowd came a middle-aged woman. Resting her arms on her hips, she pointed at Jenny, "I thought you were well-educated. Didn't your parents teach you to be responsible for your child? The kid is so pretty and well-behaved. You are not a worthy mother!"
Jenny was left speechless.
Should a famous female lawyer find no ground to retort even a word!
