Chapter 18 Wolves Were Coming
"Do you want to rebel?" Zack snarled grumpily.
"No, sir." Carson hurriedly took out the remote control and pressed it. Then the door of the square cage opened.
Zack dragged Renee and threw her into the cage. Then the door slowly closed.
Renee got to her feet, looked at Zack, and grasped the iron bars tightly with a terrified face, "Zack, what are you doing? Let me out!"
"I'll show you the real beast and help correct your view!" Following his words, Zack left the woods without looking back.
"Zack, come back! Come back! Come back..." Renee couldn't restrain her tears from falling.
She kept roaring and shaking the cage vigorously to no avail. The cage wouldn't budge.
Keeling on the floor, Renee held her arms in a state of utter stupefaction.
She cast her eyes up and looked around the quiet forest. Frightened, she held herself more tightly.
Did Zack try to trap her here for one night so that she would obediently stay by his side?
No!
She would not yield.
She would not stay with him.
She would not be his woman!
No.
The moonlight was getting dimmer. Stiffened, Renee sat on the floor and felt a dull pain in her legs. She lifted her dress and found her skin scraped.
She tore off stripes from the hem of her dress and quickly bandaged her wounds.
She would not be beaten easily.
Growing up in an orphanage, she was often bullied and injured. Her wounds were all dressed by herself.
All of a sudden, Renee heard rustles and looked over. There were pairs of glowing eyes slowly moving. The air was menacing.
They were slowly approaching!
They moved faster and faster!
Within seconds, they rushed to Renee and jumped at her.
"Ah!"
Renee screamed and saw them clearly. Those were wolves, wild wolves!
It was common for beasts to haunt in the forest!
Renee flinched and gazed at the covetous wolves.
Their eyes were glowing dangerous blueish light.
Renee kept cowering to... to the center of the cage.
Now the cage was already surrounded by a pack of wolves.
They bared their white fangs, excited with the smell of blood in the air.
"Ah!"
When a wolf was seen charging straight towards her, Renee's lips turned pale, and she screamed.
Zack!
Bastard!
Renee was running out of tears. Appalled, she saw the menacing wolf was blocked by the cage and heaved a sigh of relief.
But the next second...
Those wolves were very smart.
They began to tear at the bars with their sharp teeth and whined horrifyingly.
"Ah!" Like a frightened bird, Renee collapsed in the center of the cage and gasped for breaths.
Was she going to die here today?
She... was the supper for the wolves...
Scared out of her wits, Renee held herself and shivered all over.
It was okay.
Death was nothing!
What was there to be afraid of?
After all, except for Frank, no one would give her warmth.
Death or life, where was the difference?
But... in a moment, her flesh would be torn off piece by piece... Wasn't that kind of death a bit too violent...
