Chapter 7 Mr. Lake, Please Help Me...

Seeing that Nicole didn't stop her anymore, Larissa stumbled out of the villa with her suitcase, regardless of her disheveled look.

As thunder rumbled, a bolt of lightning crackled through the sky, and all of a sudden, the cold torrential rain struck against her fragile body!

Only after a long while did she hail a taxi and tell the address to the driver. But when she almost reached Glen's villa, she was embarrassed to find that she didn't take any money or even her phone with her.

"Sir... I'm sorry. I left my wallet at home. Could you please..."

Running in such awful weather, the driver was furious. "No money? Then why did you get into my car? Are you insane?"

Then, there was sudden braking, following which she was mercilessly thrown by the road!

As she stumbled to her feet, the spattering rain blurred her sight. Mud, tears, and rain stained her pitiful little face.

She raised an arm, clumsily wiping away the liquid on her face. She looked around and felt fortunate that it was not that far from her destination.

Her legs had been sore since that intimate night, but she bore the pain and walked for a long time...

Finally, she looked up and found three words under the bright light: The Perla Villa!

It was here, the place where he lived. It was the same as the picture she had seen on the internet.

But she was pitilessly stopped by a guard at the entrance. This was an upscale secluded villa area where ordinary people couldn't go in or out casually.

Besides, she looked so miserable and emotional at this moment that the guard might take her as a lunatic girl.

She slumped onto the ground, cold, exhausted, and hopeless!

When she almost fainted, the bright light from a car dazzled her eyes.

Putting a hand before her narrowed eyes, she tried to see the man in the car. Was it Glen Lake? Was it him?

Desperate, she crawled over with her tender knees and thumped the car door with all her might!

When the door opened, she saw him...

His appearance was like a sudden ray of warmth in the boundless icy world, saving her from the verge of despair.

Then, she felt more warmth around her body tightly, layer after layer.

...

In the bedroom, the thick curtain isolated the darkness outside. The wall lamp above the headboard glowed in dim orange.

Glen leaned his tall figure against the door frame and drew heavily on his cigarette. Amid a thin curl of smoke, he gradually narrowed his eyes.

Hearing some noises from the bed, he ground the cigarette and walked over.

When Larissa slowly opened her dry eyes, she saw that familiar face again within striking distance. It was indeed Glen Lake!

"Mr. Lake... please help me..." she moved her lips and uttered a weak and hoarse cry.

She lay there with her watery big eyes, wrinkling her nose and sobbing like a bullied kitten.

The next second, she sat up and pounced upon his broad chest, holding his waist with her full strength!

Glen was stunned. Then, he raised a pretty hand and caressed her small head gently with concern and affection.
