Chapter 9 I'll Be a Good Girl
The next morning, the spacious bedroom was bathed in soft sunlight.
When Larissa rubbed her eyes, her cheeks suddenly blushed red. Hurriedly, she buried her face under the covers to avoid the man's gaze.
With a slight smile, Glen threw back a corner of the covers. Looking at her bashful face, he said in a naughty tone, "What are you hiding from?"
She tensed and dared not move at all. Her eyes were fixed on his handsome face, and her mouth was slack.
Why were his eyes, nose, and mouth so delicate? His face was just like a flawless sculpture made by Heaven.
He brought himself up on his elbow, looked down over her, and placed a hand on her waist. His voice was deep but gentle. "Do you still feel hurt?"
Grasping the covers, Larissa blinked her bright eyes and nodded softly. "Yes, it still hurts. Mr. Lake, could I live here... from now on? If I go back, I'll be beaten again."
Suddenly, her eyes glistened with tears again.
Glen didn't reply. He rolled over, got off the bed, and walked toward the bathroom.
Seeing that, Larissa caught up immediately. She stood on tiptoe and encircled his strong waist from behind. "Could I live here? Mr. Lake?"
She didn't think much. Neither did she know why she was so bold to hold a man.
Glen turned around and held her in his arms naturally, encircling her with a masculine scent. He said in a low voice, "Larissa Wilson."
She clenched her fists, eyes filled with expectation.
"I don't mind you taking me as a tool. I can help you get back what you want. But remember, you're my woman all this life!" He said patiently, slowly, and clearly.
Opening her bright black eyes wide, she nodded instantly.
Wait!
Hold on!
All this life? Did he say "all this life"?
She stared blankly at him...
Indeed, she wanted to use his authority to break free from her step-mother's hurts and to drive those two women out of the family. But she had never thought about trading with her whole life!
Glen stared at her panicked face steadily. Her lips trembled and her eyes were full of shock as if he was a devil to swallow her up!
With a deep breath, she calmed herself down a bit. "Mr. Lake, I... I just want to..."
"Use me?" He snorted slightly and narrowed his eyes in a threatening way.
Larissa didn't deny it. Her wings were so powerless that they couldn't carry her up at all. Such being her, she must seek help and support.
Just then, the hand on her waist pressed her against him so closely that she could feel his strong heartbeat!
Glen lowered his head, sniffing the pleasant fragrance on her neck, which reminded him of the excitement that night.
But she had fainted in the process, forcing him to quench his excess fire inside through a cold shower!
Larissa didn't dare to move. She gritted her teeth and silently allowed him to take liberties with her. When his stubble brushed across her tender skin, she couldn't help giving a shiver.
This was a road she chose. Even if she would be badly hurt, she must walk on without looking back.
Besides, how long would a worldly man like him be interested in her? Perhaps when her wings were strong enough, he had got tired of her.
Thinking this way, she wriggled in his arms and lifted her girlish face meekly. "Mr. Lake, I'll be a good girl... Could you keep me by your side?"
Yes, she must be a good girl and win his help!
