Chapter 9 Protection for Her Bestie

"Madam, could you please tell me your friend's name? I can check which room she's reserved," the waitress said to Bella.

Bella then told her Cindy's name. The waitress checked for a long while, but she still couldn't find that name on the reservation list.

Bella could only sit down and stare at her phone screen, but nobody called or texted her.

"Bella, why you are here?" Cindy suddenly appeared in front of her.

Cindy was wearing a sapphire A-line dress trimmed with gold lace today. She had her hair in a bun, revealing her slender neck. With a pair of black thigh-high boots, she looked mischievous and elegant.

"Why didn't you answer my phone?" Bella grumbled.

"You called me?" Cindy opened her handbag in her armpit, took out her phone, and saw two missed calls. The car music had been so loud just now that she couldn't hear the phone ringing.

"Huh! I couldn't reach you when I needed you." Bella pretended to get angry.

"All right, my apologies."

Bella's dressing today was simple but enchanting: black skinny jeans and a white loose shirt with the hem tied in a bow. Her long curly chestnut hair cascaded down to her waist and flowed in the wind; under her long eyelashes were bright eyes with a youthful glow.

As the two beauties walked through the hall, all the people's attention was attracted. The jealous women, especially, landed stares at them closely.

Carl was making a phone call at the door of a room. When he saw his friends, he hung up the phone and walked up to them.

"Bella, why didn't you tell me your new phone number? I couldn't reach you. You must make it up to me by having wine later."

"No problem. Don't beg for mercy later." Cindy looked fearless. Everyone knew that she could hold her drink and that nobody could defeat her in drinking.

"I don't dare to drink with you. I'd like to challenge Bella this time. Don't get involved, okay? Come on in. Everyone is waiting for you two." Carl walked into the room.

Then, Bella and Cindy found the room was packed with their old friends.

But Cindy's face suddenly fell when she saw someone.

"Carl, why did you invite some nuisances? Are you trying to ruin my appetite today?"

Hearing Cindy's complaint, Carl came over immediately and whispered, "Come on. We are all friends. Do me a favor and be nice today, okay?"

In a huff, Cindy sneaked a look at Bella who, however, looked rather calm. Bella pulled a chair, patted it, and motioned for Cindy to sit down.

"Cindy, just sit down first." Henry rose from his seat and pressed Cindy's shoulders with both hands.

As Cindy snapped her phone on the glass table, the ear-piercing sound put the noisy room fell in a sudden silence.

Troy and Eddy sat together opposite Cindy and Bella. Seeing the hatred and fury in Cindy's eyes, Troy frowned involuntarily.

"Don't do this, Cindy," Bella whispered to Cindy's ear.

"Ooh, gross!" Cindy raised her eyebrows and stared hostilely at the two in front of her.

Eddy snuggled up to Troy softly and warily. When she heard Cindy's words, she blushed and lowered her head.

"Cindy, don't go too far. We didn't piss you off, alright?" Troy couldn't bear it anymore.

"Hey! Did I do anything to you? Don't you yell at me like that! I am telling you I won't spare you if you annoy my bestie." Everyone knew that Cindy had a hot temper. The more you were against her, the more aggressive she would be.

Eddy gently tugged at Troy's sleeve. Troy pursed his lips and looked across at Bella who had her head down, hiding her expression and her thoughts.

On Bella's left were Cindy, Henry, and his girlfriend Becky Moore. Carl sat next to his new girlfriend Sara, and then there were Troy, Eddy, and Sophia.

The seat on Bella's right was empty. It might be kept for someone.

"Sophia, I haven't met you for a long time. You are finally free today." Cindy shifted her gaze from the couple to Sophia.

"Bella, Cindy, I'm sorry about last time. I really couldn't get away by then." Sophia apologized sincerely.

"Why don't you 'marry' your company? Do you still need us?" Bella teased her.

"I'd like to, but the company doesn't want to 'marry' me. What should I do?" Sophia laughed and replied jokingly.

"Who would reject a pretty girl who doesn't ask for betrothal gifts?" Carl had just walked into the room after another phone call and heard their conversation.

The three women burst into laughter.

"Three crazy women get together, and we're going to suffer tonight." Henry and Carl said in unison.

Bella, Cindy, and Sophia had all studied at No.7 High School. Although they were not in the same class, they were very close to each other.

By then, Bella was an art student. Every day after school, she would practice painting in the studio.

No.7 High School attached great importance to cultivating students' artistic tastes and invested heavily in art education. There was a large studio on the top floor of the school building for students from different grades.

Back then, Cindy often came to the studio to chase a boy who painted there and thus became acquainted with Bella. Although she failed in romance, she obtained a friendship with Bella.

Bella discovered that the boy was lovey-dovey with Cindy while flirting with another girl. He thought of himself as an artist, but he was a libertine.

Disgusted by his behavior, Bella scolded that boy one day, "Get out of here, you dirty liar. Don't you know that you are ugly? Who makes you think you are charming? You are gross!"

The boy flew into a rage. "Shut up, bitch! Mind your own business!"

"That is my business. You ugly jerk. How dare you cheat on my bestie? Damn you!"

Bella was a brave girl. She argued indignantly and uprightly.

"Hey, bitch, you think I am afraid of you?" The boy was not a pushover. He was taller than Bella, so he had the guts to point at her nose and quarrel with her.

Bella pushed him away and threw his drawing board and easel out of the window.

All the students were stunned. They had never seen such a fierce girl before.

The pampered boy of a wealthy family was also shocked. Girls liked him. Why did Bella suddenly lose her temper and go crazy? It was not a good idea to mess up with her who got something on him. Being a coward in soul, he finally lost the "battle".
