Chapter 7 You Look in a Hurry?

At Alex's words, Nora closed her eyes tightly to force herself to accept it all.

She felt Alex's grip upon her body tightened, intentionally or unintentionally. The pain, diffused over her skin, awakened her nerves, but the man was careless about that.

Alex was right. Nora was his surrogate, and he was her client. That was all between them. They used to be husband and wife, but it did not mean anything at this moment.

What was the most significant thing for Nora was to give birth to a child for him.

The night breeze was tinged with the fragrance of alcohol, blowing open the woman's warm, starlike eyes. A faint smile appeared upon her pretty lips as she said, "Okay, then. You're the boss, and I'll stay at your place tonight."

Alex was slightly drunk and could not take his eyes off the woman's face, and his cheeks blushed somewhat.

The woman behaved as obediently as she had no objection to Alex's request at all.

However, Alex's expression became gloomier and gloomier. Nora's smile failed to please him, and instead...

As the car kept moving, Nora nestled in the man's arms.

Precisely, Alex pressed the woman against his sturdy chest and was unwilling to let go of her. Given no other choice, Nora had to pretend to be napping.

Though Nora tried to resist, all her efforts came in vain.

Ten minutes later, the vehicle stopped.

As Nora wondered what she might face soon, the scene before her eyes petrified her entire body.

They were in front of Beyond the Waters, the house they lived in after getting married a year ago.

"There's no rush to get in. Stay here with me for a while."

Alex instructed the driver to leave, and forcibly kept the woman sitting in the back seat together with him.

Nora looked straight at the man leaning beside her, and there was a force that drove her fists to clench intuitively.

She recalled what Alex said back then, "I'll auction off the villa after the divorce."

Then, why was the house still here before her eyes?

Nora took a deep breath to slow down her wild heartbeat. Still, she could not take her eyes off the house, and she was clear that she should not have come to this place.

"Are you surprised to see our former house?"

"What's the point of getting surprised? Isn't this Mr. Hoffman's usual acting style?"

Nora sneered. The villa was originally a special gift from her parents for the wedding. However, it was not her asset any longer.

At this moment, Alex slightly straightened up, tilted his body to tightly circle the woman in his arms, and said in a mocking tone tinged with a hint of teasing, "Nora, why did you give me this house at the expense of everything?"

Nora felt the man was too close to her that she could barely breathe. "Mr. Hoffman, if you want to make a baby, let's get inside and get it started. Why waste time talking nonsense?"

How could she answer Alex's question? Back then, even after he had mercilessly asked for a divorce, she still could not stop herself from madly clinging to him.

At the thought of withdrawing from his world, she desperately wanted to leave something in there so that he would remember her and never forget her.

And this house was the epitome of all their time together.

At the woman's words, Alex gradually narrowed his long eyes, asking, "It seems that you're in a hurry?"

After letting go of Nora, Alex unbuttoned his shirt slowly with his pale, slender hands.

"No, but I do think we should make it clear. I'm here for the money, and you're in it for the baby. It's a business and nothing else."

Compared to the former Nora, who was stupidly obsessed with Alex, the woman was clear-headed at this moment.

After a good while, the man said, "Well, it seems that I'm saying too much."

Alex suddenly laughed several times under the dim light, then whispered a few words in the woman's ear. At his words, a trace of surprise crossed the woman's face, then she blushed slightly.

The broad palm resting upon the woman's waist gently gripped as Alex said in a compelling voice and an irresistible tone, "Nora, do you remember the first night we spent together one year ago? It was also in this car."
