Chapter 7 Saying No

Seeing that Ryan's appearance did not bring about the effect she hoped to see, Mrs. Hunter stood up anxiously, saying, "Alyssa, a shameless woman like you is not qualified to enter the Hunter Family."

Alyssa tilted to glance at Mrs. Hunter, and a hint of coldness flashed across her bright eyes. "I'm in love with Leon."

"Bullshit!"

Alyssa turned around and walked over to Mrs. Hunter.

She pressed the table with her hands and approached the other woman expressionlessly. "Mrs. Hunter, why the hell do you want to break me and Leon up so badly? What do you want?"

"You don't deserve Leon." Mrs. Hunter sneered. "Look at you. You're apparently not good for Leon or the Hunter Family."

Alyssa tilted her head to stare at Mrs. Hunter and asked after thinking for a moment. "How do you want to prove that I am worthy of Leon?"

"You get down on your knees and call me Mom, and I will grant you entry into the Hunter Family." Mrs. Hunter was wearing a smug smile. Although she had married into this family for twenty years, Leon had never called her Mom. Even she enhanced her status by giving birth to her son George Hunter eighteen years ago, Leon still treated her as a transparent outsider with no respect and never recognized her position in the family.

Mrs. Hunter wanted to make a change on this day.

It did not matter that Leon refused to call her Mom. She would force Alyssa to call her Mom.

If Alyssa rejected Mrs. Hunter's request, she would try her best to stop the younger woman from marrying into the Hunter Family.

If Alyssa fulfilled Mrs. Hunter's request, what was going to wait for her would be Leon's disgust.

Mrs. Hunter asked in a light voice, "How does that sound to you? Don't you want to get into the Hunter Family?"

Looking at Mrs. Hunter, Alyssa was clear about what she was thinking.

However, Leon was unwilling to recognize Mrs. Hunter's status.

Therefore, Alyssa could not call Mrs. Hunter Mom.

Suddenly, Alyssa got an idea, asking, "Sorry, what did you want me to call?"

"Mom!"

"Mom? who?"

"Me!"

Realizing that Alyssa was messing with her, Mrs. Hunter grabbed a wine glass and threw it at the young woman.

As the crowd was getting nervous for Alyssa, she swiftly clasped Mrs. Hunter's arm and pushed the latter against the wall.

While tightly pressing Mrs. Hunter's shoulder, Alyssa said coldly, "Look, I'm Alyssa Graham, not your son, George Hunter. Discard your wishful thinking. Leon won't call you Mom, neither will I."

While speaking, Alyssa picked up the glass of red wine from the table and splashed the liquid on Mrs. Hunter, then suggested in an even colder voice, "Opps, your clothes are wet. It's my wedding day. Why don't you go home and get changed? Wear something festive. But if you get sick, you don't have to come. Anyway, you are not Mom of the couple."

With that, Alyssa turned around and walked in Leon's direction.

At this moment, Leon and the woman looked into each other's eyes.

When their sights connected, the wedding march sounded in the auditorium.

Noticing that the background wall was empty, Alyssa ran towards Grandpa and whispered in his ear.

A trace of surprise flashed across Grandpa's grey eyes. Quickly, he took over the mobile phone handed to him.

Click!

The older man took a few pictures of Alyssa.

Alyssa handed the phone back to Leon and whispered a few words in his ear. Then, she stared at him with an expectant look in her fawn-like eyes, waiting for the man's permission.

Looking into the woman's eye, Leon nodded, then handed the phone to the subordinate standing next to him.

Soon, the background wall was covered with photos of Alyssa in her wedding dress.

Alyssa's smile was quite natural in those well-taken pictures.

Her innocent smile and pretty figure in the wedding dress instantly enlivened the atmosphere in the hall.

The emcee walked back to the stage and restarted the ceremony.

Soon the wedding was on track.

Ryan and Mrs. Hunter fled without a trace.

Alyssa did not expect them to leave so fast and thus curled up her lips.

She had not taken revenge on Ryan yet.

That was fine, though. She was back.

After going through death once, Alyssa profoundly understood the worth of life and the significance of the people she cared about.
