Chapter 10 Mr. Brown Is Waiting for You
A peaceful night passed.
Early the next morning, right after Sophia watched Ethan get on a bus, a black Lincoln limousine pulled off in front of her.
A tall man in a black suit and dark sunglasses got off and walked up mechanically, "Miss Miller, following Mr. Brown's instruction, I'm here to pick you up to South Garden."
South Garden was Jim's private villa area. He supervised everything from its design to construction. Rumor had it the total cost exceeded one billion yuan. Back then, it created a sensation across Ozark City.
The South Garden was top-class in terms of floor area, landscape, and facilities. It was the best across Ozark City, a famous paradise on earth. Countless people dreamed of living there or just taking a look from the distance. Unfortunately, Jim was lofty and unapproachable.
Sophia was a little surprised as she thought that Jim would allocate her to a random small apartment.
Rumor had it that only those close to Jim could access South Garden. Did it mean he cared about her?
As soon as the idea popped up, she denied it with a wry smile.
Sophia, didn't the man hurt you badly enough yesterday? Why were you still foolishly clinging to an illusion? Were you crazy?
She shook the ridiculous idea out of her head and followed the man into the car.
As the car door closed with a bang, she knew that some things changed irrevocably.
Although she had heard of South Garden's reputation, she was still stunned to see it with her own eyes.
The beautiful British architecture looked like an old castle where the prince and princess lived. After the car ran past the gate, she saw white roses on both sides of the road. As a breeze blew past, a cool floral fragrance permeated the air. A huge swing twined with the vines of crape myrtle flowers erected at a corner of the garden. The thought of sitting on it alone could cheer people up.
"Miss Miller, here we are. Mr. Brown is waiting for you at home." The man in black got off and opened the car door politely.
"Okay, thank you." Sophia replied but felt bitter in her heart.
Home?
How nice would it be if such a beautiful place was really her home? Pitifully, it was but a beautiful cage for her.
She took a deep breath, got into the house, and immediately spotted Jim on the sofa.
He was dressed in simple home wear. His hair looked freshly washed and a bit fluffy, softening the air about him. It felt like old times when they were in love seven years ago.
Her heart skipped a beat and her eyes felt sore. Before she could say anything, a cold voice came out, shattering her illusions.
"So early? Looks like you can't wait any longer." The handsome face and this man were still familiar to her eyes, but his eyes had changed. There was a hint of sarcasm and contempt. It pushed her into purgatory.
Sophia smiled bitterly, ignored his ridicule, and looked around, "Which room will I live in?"
She begged him to buy her off at one million yuan, which defined their buyer-seller relationship. Why bother expecting a nice attitude from him? She should know her place.
"Which room?" Jim stood up abruptly and approached slowly. The corner of his sexy lips curved up in a scornful smile, "Sophia, better know the situation. I spent one million yuan to buy your service, so certainly you'll stay in my room. Where else do you expect?"
