Chapter 8 Never Met Again
Harden agreed with Patrick's analysis. The situation was really against him!
He nodded and asked.
"Where am I supposed to find her? I didn't even ask her name!"
Before he had a chance to ask, the girl slipped away! In his view, any woman would hold him accountable!
Patrick covered his face and cried out helplessly.
"Seriously! Man, you slept with her but don't know her name?"
Harden's face remained sullen. The 'cure' was gone, but he was still in a mood to sip his coffee...
From the flat highway, the bus veered to a bumpy mountain road.
With music plugged into her ears, Camila looked blankly out of the window. Lost in thought, she didn't notice the stopped bus.
The student in the next seat patted and reminded her.
"Camila, Camila! Here we are, time to get off."
Startled, she hurriedly got up to get her luggage.
"Oh... okay, let's go."
The bus parked at an open area that boasted fresh air, sounds of mother nature, mountain drizzle, and greeneries! Her anxious mind gradually relaxed. She let out a deep breath, dragged her luggage towards the shabby school, and embarked on the six-month program. As soon as she entered the school gate, kind and innocent little faces came into view. They were smiling at her and shouted from a distance.
"Good day, teachers!"
Camila took a glance at the dozens of children ahead. They looked ragged and dirty but smiled all the time. Earlier before the trip, the head teacher told her that most kids here were left behind in the mountains. She thought that she was mentally ready but could not help shedding tears. She felt proud as a teacher and sad for those children...
She rushed up, stroked their ruddy cheeks with a smile, and introduced herself.
"Hello, my students! I'll be your teacher, and my name is Camila Reynolds!"
A bunch of children rushed up and greeted the long-awaited teacher...
Half a year later...
Rat-tat...
"Sir, the scheduled meeting will start soon."
In his office on the top floor, Harden stood at the floor-to-ceiling window and overlooked the city. Hearing the assistant's report, he didn't bother to look back but just nodded arrogantly.
He was still thinking about Camila whom he spent a night with.
'It's been half a year? Why hasn't she still been found?'
Camila went to teach in the countryside on a bus chartered by her college, so there were no records of her departure. He only learned that she went to teach in deep mountains.
Angry with that, he found it embarrassing to ask Patrick about the searching progress and had to wait anxiously!
He turned around and pulled on his suit. The over 1.8-meter-tall man boasted fair skin, and the business suit set off his perfect figure. On his clean, fair face was his sculpted features. On his way from his office to the conference room, countless eyes were on him. He was the man of all the female employees' dreams!
As soon as he got into the conference room, the dozens of employees stood in awe.
"Mr. Stanley!"
He waved his hand loftily as a signal for them to sit down.
But those employees didn't take their seats until he sat down, which showed his good management of the company.
