>The Cursed Alpha's Mate>Rejection

Rejection

She stares at her mate, not being able to comprehend the words that he just spoke. The words that she always feared. Always hated. She couldn't believe what he had just asked her to do. She had given him everything he wanted from her. Her heart, her mind and her soul. She happily gave him everything only for him to break her already fragile heart.

"I am going to reject you and you are going to accept the rejection to make it easy for both of us." Her mate said coldly without any hint of emotion in his eyes.

How could he do this to her? All the pain she endured.....for nothing. All the pain caused by his cheating, by the neglection of her mate for.... nothing.

Her midnight blue eyes brimmed with tears and her throat clogged with emotion. She then asked the only question she could thing of.

"Wh-Why?" She whispered. The words barely getting out of mouth. She was a human in a pack of werewolves and she herself knew the reason but couldn't stop herself from asking him that.

Hearing her question due to his sensitive hearing, his eyes snapped to meet her tear filled ones. His face then softened, giving her hope that he was just playing with her. He then pulled her closer to him and her breath hitched. He dipped his head to look into her eyes and his features hardened again.

"Because I love Harley and she can give me something you can't. She can sleep with me without any fear unlike you. I don't know what are you afraid of. She can give me strong babies as she is an Alpha's daughter and you are just a human. JUST. A. HUMAN. SLAVE. I don't want you. You are just a waste of time. Just an UNWANTED SLAVE. Understood?" He whispered harshly in her ear and her heart shattered in a million of pieces. Tears poured out of her eyes and trailed down her cheeks.

He moved back and stared dead in her eyes. His expression telling her to dare argue right now and then he said the words she despised by her heart.

"I, Michael Kingston, the Alpha King reject you, Hope Callahan as my mate." He said coldly without any hint of regret.

"I-I ac-accept y-your re-rejection." She replied back, the words barely getting out of her throat. Just as she replied, her heart clenched painfully in her chest and she fell on her knees in front of him, who just stood there watching her with his calculating eyes. Her hands went to her chest as she tried to lessen the pain of rejection which only growed and her body started racked by sobs and tears streamed down her face. Her mate left the room without giving her a second glance.

She just sat there on her knees, her hands on her chest and tears trailing down her face. She had never given up. But now she was tired. Tired of her life. Tired of all the beating. Tired of all the abuse. She wanted happiness. Even an ounce of it will be enough for her. She wanted it. She deserved it after what she had been through all of her life.

Her friend, Marina, found her in that same position she had been after her mate left her there . Marina brought her back to the pack house where they both lived and gave her something to eat. She then helped her wash her face and they both had dinner.

Hope didn't even realize she had sat in the meadow whole day until Marina asked her what she was doing in there but she stayed silent. After all what was left in her life? She was numb. Numb to all the emotions.

Marina looked at her friend who was sleeping quietly beside her. She had questions, but she didn't ask anything as she knew her friend needed time. She felt so bad about her friend. Her friend had enough scars for a lifetime. She didn't want her friend to go through more pain. Her friend had been so cheerful even after everything she went through. But now seeing her friend like that , she couldn't help but curse whoever was the reason for her friend's despair.

Hope woke up the next morning feeling all the emotions crash at her. All the anger, sadness, despair and humiliation she felt resulted in another breakdown. She didn't want to see her mate again after this. She didn't want to feel more humiliation. She loved him and he did this to her. She tried to stop her mind from going to him but it didn't happen.

She showered and changed into her usual clothes. Marina had already left to make breakfast for the pack and the guests. She looked into the mirror and found a girl staring back at her with the same midnight blue eyes, lustrous black hair and beautiful face. But she wasn't her. That girl had lost all the shine from her eyes and her eyes were bloodshot. Her cheeks and nose were still red from crying so much. She wasn't her.

The Hope everyone knew was cheerful, happy and always smiling. If you slap her , she would just smile and return to her work. And her smiles were contagious. But this girl? The girl staring back at her wasn't her. She couldn't even smile. No it can't be her. The girl staring back at her wasn't Hope. She will never be Hope again.

Congratulations to everyone who wanted to see her broken. See her shattered. They won.

She wiped the tears that rolled down eyes without her knowledge and went downstairs to the kitchen. Everyone was sleeping except for the slaves who had to clean the packhouse and make breakfast. She wouldn't think of him. Never of him again.

The other slaves smiled when they saw Hope coming downstairs but frowned when they didn't saw her smile back and her condition. Hope was their inspiration. To smile and never break down but now seeing her like that they felt their hearts break for her. They didn't want to pry in her business so they talked about the new gossip.

Hope started cooking chicken when she heard one of the slaves say something about the king.

"Why are you talking about the king?" She asked without wavering but from inside her heart broke thinking about him.

"You don't know? The Alpha King left yesterday night with that slut Harley." One of the slaves, Mira, replied.

Hope froze. She turned Mira's words in her head but they still meant the same. Her heart clenched painfully inside her chest, tears brimmed in her eyes and sobs racked out of her which she muffled by putting her hand on her mouth.

'He left. He left with another woman. He doesn't love me. He never loved me. She will get his love. He will never come back for her.' These thoughts started parading her mind and tears started leaking out of her eyes and more sobs racked through her body.

He left. He just left her.
