She screamed, backed up in horror, and finally fell on the ground.

"Are you afraid of me?" He straightened up and looked down at her and his gravitas deterred her

She closed her eyes and dared not open to see him, for fear of his eyesight.

She wanted to shake her head and say she was not afraid, but she couldn't.

She shuddered and could not say a word.

It was a dry, hot summer night, but she felt awfully cold, like being in an icehouse.

Gu Hanzhou turned surly, and pulled his collar irritably.

It was natural that she was scared of him but... he still felt uncomfortable seeing her shaking and reluctant to be close to him.

If... she couldn't accept him, then she was not the wife he looked for.

"Send her home."

Gu Hanzhou threw away his tie and said coldly.

Uncle An sighed silently, thinking that this girl was no different from any other girls who only judged people by their appearance.

He went to her and said, "Miss Xu, let me send you back. The engagement between the young master and you will be cancelled, but he'll keep his promise and help Xu family. He is a man of his word; you can rest assured."
