Chapter 6 Finally, No One Will Take Barry from Me

Mary awkwardly lay prone on the floor. Her arm was gripped by the bodyguard as if she was a captured criminal.

Everyone in the living room watched the fun. Senior Mistress Yeates, Talbot's family, and those servants were all excited.

The once pampered little princess was now treated like a dog.

Everyone liked to watch the fun of a rich lady's downfall.

Under the support of Mandy and Flora, Senior Mistress Yeates got up, walked to Mary, and kicked her hard.

Despite her senility, Senior Mistress Yeates was quite strong. Her kick caused a sharp pain on Mary's waist, but Mary gritted her teeth to prevent any cry.

She indeed underestimated those people who were shameless in fighting for the family property. Judging from their behavior, they might press her hand to sign the letter of equity transfer against her will.

"Little bastard, how dare you defy me! Like your dead mother, you are also a slut."

Senior Mistress Yeates spat and cursed.

"Don't you curse my mother!"

In a fit of pique, Mary struggled, but her arm was wrung by the bodyguard. Under the sharp pain, she almost shed tears.

At this, Senior Mistress Yeates snorted contemptuously and then looked at her second son, "Save the crap, get the letter of transfer and make her sign it."

"I won't!" Mary shouted angrily, "I'd rather die. You want to take away my parents' property? Not in a million years!"

"Cut her fingers off if she wouldn't sign it!"

Folding her arms before her chest, Mandy looked at Mary with envious eyes.

Flora tittered and chimed in, "Mandy, that's a brilliant idea."

Senior Mistress Yeates nodded her head, "Indeed, cut her fingers off if she wouldn't sign it. What could a callow girl do about it?"

The letter of share transfer was brought to Mary who chose to close her eyes.

"Bring me my whip." Talbot roared, and a horsewhip was immediately brought over.

That horsewhip was a legacy of Mary's grandfather and now possessed by Talbot.

All these years, he had been suppressed by his brother and unable to control the company. He hated every member of his brother's family. Although they were either dead or injured, his hatred didn't abate at all. On the contrary, the lone girl became his subject to vent out his anger.

"One last time, do you sign it or not?"

From the commanding position, Talbot pointed at Mary with the whip like an underworld emperor.

Mary sneered and still kept her eyes closed.

The whip fell hard on Mary's scraggy back with a snap.

Mary had never suffered like this, and the throbbing pain almost overcame her.

But still, she clenched her teeth and didn't utter a sound.

Angered by that, Talbot whipped her mercilessly.

He had all the means to subdue Mary. While whipping, he cursed, "If you don't sign it, you will suffer. When the punishment is done, you will be sent to the recreation club. If your parents knew their lovely daughter would be played by those men in the club, what would they think?"

Mary was shocked. Although the pain from her back was overwhelming, it was Talbot's words that hurt her the most.

Should her second uncle want to send her to that kind of place...

Dignity insults were ten times worse than physical torture.

"Great, finally no one will take Barry from me."

Mandy spoke in a soft voice. She had been admiring Barry but didn't dare to express it all these years out of her fear for the power of Mary's parents.

Now that Mary's patrons were gone, she had nothing to fear anymore.

The snaps of whipping echoed in the living room. Like a dog to the slaughter, Mary was bullied by them on the floor.

Everyone but one was watching the fun. Aunt Rosa who had been nursing her tried to plead but was driven out.

Outside the villa, an extended Rolls Royce pulled off. A man wearing a business suit and broad sunglasses got off.
