Chapter 6 Ill Fame Outside
"I heard that Zoie was pregnant with your husband's child. When did you learn about it? Do you want a divorce?"
"Miss Guthrie, rumor has it that your sister had a miscarriage because of a car accident, and you did the surgery. Did you retaliate against her?"
Harsh questions hit her one after another. Kimora's eyes gradually turned cold, "Sorry, this is not within the scope of my duty."
Following that, she turned around and went back. There were security guards at the entrance of the lobby. These paparazzi couldn't get in and had to watch her leave.
Kimora went through the lobby and entered the underground parking lot from the emergency passage at the back. As soon as she got out, her sharp eyes noticed several figures rushing up. Her heart was instantly gripped.
Those paparazzi were ambushing her from the main entrance and the underground parking lot. Obviously, they were well prepared!
Kimora's face fell, and a flicker of irritation flashed across her eyes.
Beep…
A loud honk suddenly came over. She knitted her brows and looked over. The window of a black Bentley rolled down, revealing a familiar face.
"Get in the car." Murphy urged her in a deep voice.
Stunned for a while, Kimora glanced at the swarming reporters and hesitated.
She didn't want to bring trouble to a patient's relative.
As she didn't move, Murphy sullenly opened the car door. The feet of the big man landed on the ground. He overbearingly threw his arm around her waist and pushed her into the car.
His stance was unchallengeable.
The car door was slammed shut. Before Kimora could recover from the shock, the man stepped on the accelerator and drove off.
In awe, the crowd quickly made way.
They failed to interview Dr. Guthrie but witnessed Mr. Haney's rare action. This man had never been close to any woman before!
Those reporters looked at each other. Their minds were blown.
Such gossip could definitely hit the headlines, but none of them dared offend Mr. Haney!
Surprised by the unobstructed road, Kimora glanced at the man out of the corner of her eye and whispered, "Thank you."
Murphy dropped his eyes and sensitively noticed her broken high heel. Soon, his gaze snapped back. He veered the car and headed to a mall.
"Why do you take me here?" She asked curiously when the car was pulled off.
Murphy just told her to wait before getting off and entering the mall. His cold shoulder confused her even more.
Were successful people like this nowadays?
She helplessly snapped her gaze back.
Feeling bored, she replied to a few messages, and then Murphy was seen coming back with a bag in his hand.
"Change your shoes."
He sat back in the driver's seat and handed her a pair of shoes.
Kimora looked at him blankly.
He furrowed his brows, took out the flats, leaned over, grabbed her ankle, and swiftly changed the shoes for her.
A strange feeling rose from the bottom of her heart. In fact, she didn't like such physical contact with strangers.
She suppressed her annoyance and stated in a gentle voice, "Thanks, I can go home in a taxi."
Following that, Kimora tried to open the car door, but the car beat her to dash out.
"Address."
A deep voice came over. She hesitated for a few seconds and answered, "Harmony Garden."
Leaning on the passenger seat, Kimora looked at quickly receding neon lights and suddenly felt ironic.
Even a stranger she came across was willing to help her. The so-called sister and husband of hers, however, joined hands to deal with her.
Her mind wandered. Soon, the car arrived at Harmony Garden.
Kimora sincerely thanked the man and headed home.
She pushed the door open. Her eyes were dazzled by the sudden brilliance. She looked over and saw her mother-in-law, Jill Burt, standing in the living room. The latter's face was cold, and anger was hiding in her eyes.
