Chapter 4 You're Biting the Hand that Feeds You
"Kid, this is none of your business! Get out while you still can!" In high spirits, the bald man certainly would not let her go.
Howard ignored his barking and pursed his thin lips. Those bodyguards behind him took the hint, dashed into the room, and dragged the disheveled man out.
"What the hell! What are you doing? Do you know who I am?"
His squeal trailed off and stopped following a grunt.
The rescued girl sat up and buttoned up her clothes with trembling hands. Thank God… nothing happened, or her life would be ruined!
Standing in front of the couch, Harold looked down at the discomfited woman.
What did he say earlier?
Oh, right. She definitely had a brain injury.
She would rather sell wine and get insulted at such a shithole than accept his money. Would her pride do her any good?
"Why… why are you looking at me like that?" Brittany was suffering from the aftershock and scared by his fervent gaze. In fear, she grasped her clothes and cowered.
"Nothing." Harold snapped his gaze back and said with a poker face, "I'm just curious if your head is flatter than others."
… Brittany was confused.
The booth was a mess. Empty beer cans and cigarette butts were everywhere. There was even a disgusting stench in the air.
Harold frowned and turned to leave.
But the box of wine on the tea table was accidentally knocked over.
Just now, when Brittany desperately resisted the bald man, she accidentally kicked the box. Half of it already jutted out of the edge of the table. Under the dim light, Harold tried to run away from the pandemonium in such a hurry that the edge of the box was shaved accidentally.
Following a crash, all the bottles shattered, and the liquid flowed everywhere.
Brittany was stunned by accident. As he was going to leave, she hurriedly called out, "Sir!"
"Eh?" He stopped in his tracks and showed an innocent face.
"Well… well, you…." The man just saved her, and she hesitated in her speech. After stuttering for some time, she stated with difficulty, "You… you broke the wine and should pay for them…."
"Oh?" Harold arched his brow and chuckled, "Excuse me, did anyone see me breaking the wine?"
Behind him, those bodyguards in black answered with one voice, "Sir, no one saw it!"
"What..." Brittany's face instantly turned pale. Those were costly wines. Not to mention a box, the price of one bottle could match her annual income.
She burst into tears. Her pearly teeth bit her bottom lip. Full of grievances, she glared at the man.
Harold was amused but deliberately pulled a long face. "Madam, I saved you. Rather than being grateful, you attempt to blackmail me! This is called biting the hand that feeds you. You'll burn in hell for this." He said righteously.
Brittany shriveled like a deflated ball, snuffled, and complained in dismay, "I'm not blackmailing you… Well, well then, I'll take care of it myself…."
His childish heart was delighted by her grievances. Somehow, he changed his mind, walked back to her, and grinned, "You want me to pay for them?"
"Mm!" The bunny thought that he had come round and thus nodded vigorously.
"How badly?" He asked gently.
"Er… very…" Her red eyes looked more like those of a rabbit, and her voice was tinged with sobs.
"Okay." Harold sighed and asked in a gracious tone, "How much? Is 100 yuan enough?"
Brittany almost fainted with anger. He did it on purpose! Didn't he see the big Remy Martini XO logo? How was it possible that they were worth 100 yuan!
She was not selling adulterated wine!
