Chapter 11 Not Prince Charming
When school was finally over, Brittany packed her textbooks, threw her schoolbag on her back, and rushed towards the school gate.
The proprietress should be already in the store now. She rushed to advance her commission of the wine, or her aunt would call and urge her again.
Halfway to the gate, she saw a stretched Rolls-Royce parking outside. Next to it stood a man in a suit. His fancy and luxurious style attracted a lot of students.
From a distance, she couldn't see his face clearly. The car looked familiar, though.
Just then, several girls walked over and talked excitedly about the car…
"Wow, girls, did you see that limousine at the gate?"
"You bet, who would miss that big mobile vault? My eyes were dazzled, okay?"
"Is he one of Raya's suitors? I heard that a boss of mining has been courting her lately."
"No way! That man is around 50 years old while the hot guy by the car is 30 at most."
...
Sure enough, three girls were vigorous enough for gossip. Brittany had no interest in gossip but still heard a lot.
Raya Osborn was her classmate who boasted fair skin, a pretty face, and a tall figure. Not long after school started, she was elected as the class belle. By virtue of her outstanding appearance, she quickly advanced to become the face of the foreign language department and H University. Rumor had it that many people were courting her. Besides the boys of this school, many successful business people also adored her.
Raya proved herself as a reserved goddess. In the past three years, no one had succeeded in winning her heart. Every suitor was met with a rebuff.
Brittany had no idea of her requirements for her boyfriend. Since she was laurelled as a goddess, probably only Prince Charming could win her heart.
Speaking of Prince Charming, Harold's face suddenly crossed her mind. She shivered, shook her head disdainfully, and tried to get the image out of her head.
What the hell! That sharp-tongued man was not Prince Charming but Dracula!
With a bee in her head, she reached the gate unknowingly. In front of her eyes, more and more people gathered around the limousine. Even Raya, who was in the near distance, jostled into the crowd out of curiosity.
Amid the chirps, her interest was piqued. Therefore, she walked over to watch the scene.
As the distance shortened, Brittany finally saw the man clearly. Behind the gold-rimmed glasses was a pair of slanted, gentle eyes. He boasted fine features, an elegant temperament, and an upright figure.
The moment she recognized the man, her heart gave a physical lurch. Instinct drove her to turn back and run, but the eagle's eyes of the man noticed her. He walked through the crowd and called out nicely, "Miss Jarvis."
Brittany froze there.
Following his voice, those curious eyes quickly turned to Brittany. People whispered and speculated about her connection with the car owner.
In the crowd, Raya saw that the limousine owner was not looking for her but her rustic, poor classmate. Following a snort, she raised her chin high and left like a proud peacock.
Embarrassed by the intensive gazes, Brittany turned around and felt her face burning, "Mr. Potts, what brought you here?"
