Chapter 1 Inheriting Family Fortune

"Morrel, I'm two-month pregnant."

Chelsea Svensson was about to push open the door when a familiar voice came over. It was a blot from the blue.

Through the crack of the door, she saw someone familiar and froze there.

Morrel Jenkins was overjoyed, "Wonderful! If this happened earlier and grandpa were alive, he would be very happy."

Elise Juhl was aggrieved, "Chelsea doesn't have a second daughter for our son to take place. Even if I give birth to him, he'll be an illegitimate son and carry the shame eternally! He will blame us!"

"When the time comes, I'll divorce her and marry you. Then our family of four will live happily together."

Their remarks dropped a bomb.

Chelsea couldn't believe her ears. Not in her wildest dreams had she expected that her best friend would hook up with her husband and bear his seed!

Bang…

Chelsea burst the door open.

The hugging pair was taken aback.

When they saw Chelsea coming in, they panicked, but there was no guilt.

Morrel frowned and sulked, "Chelsea, what are you doing!"

"I want to ask you the same thing! Morrel, explain yourself. What do you mean that I don't have a second daughter for your son to take place?"

Her eyes reddened and her head buzzed. When did she have a daughter? She gave birth to a son!

Elise panicked for a moment and held Morrel. Her eyes were filled with provocation, "Since you heard it, I'll tell you everything. Morrel and I have been together for a long time. Kris is my son."

Chelsea staggered backward and shook her head vigorously. Her pale lips trembled, "Impossible! I suffered for one day and one night before giving birth to Kris. There is no way that he is your son!"

She could still remember the moment she came out of the delivery room. Morrel held her gently and whispered in her ear, "Honey, good job! I won't let you suffer like this again."

If Kris Jenkins were not her son, who was?

What did Morrel keep from her? What did he do behind her back?

Elise sneered, "Since it has come to this, I'll tell you the truth. The one you gave birth to was a girl. To make room for my son, I had to throw her away."

Upon hearing the shocking news, she slapped the woman, "You went too far!"

Before her hand could reach Elise, her wrist was clasped by Morrel. His eyes were thick with reproach, "Chelsea, Elise is pregnant. You know that and still, try to hit her. You're crazy."

"She threw our daughter away!" Chelsea snarled as her bloodshot eyes were filled with resentment.

"How much can a girl inherit from the family fortune?" Morrel said matter-of-factly.

Chelsea's heart sank, and she roared, "You did that for the family fortune? I'll ask the seniors to hold justice for my daughter and me!"

She turned to rush away.

Bang!

When she just turned around, she felt a sharp pain, blacked out, and thudded on the floor.

Elise threw away the blood-stained vase. While trembling, she nestled against Morrel's chest and stated pitifully, "Morrel, we can't let her go. If she divulges our secret, we'll be in trouble."

His face gloomy, Morrel replied quickly, "Don't worry, she'll keep her mouth shut!"

...

Chelsea woke up, covered her aching head, and found herself in an unfamiliar room.

She struggled to get up, saw various props lying on the bed in disarray, and paled instantly.

What was this place? How did she end up there?

What she heard earlier echoed in her mind, and tears welled up in her eyes. She had never expected her husband and her best friend to betray her.

She gritted her teeth and wiped her tears. She was ready to get off the bed and escape.

Just then, the door of the bathroom was pushed open with a creak.
