>Billionaire's Exchange Bride>Chapter Six
Chapter Six
"Nick, are you really sure you wanna push through with marrying this babe, I mean you don't know anything about her and you guys haven't even been dating for long,"
Caleb asked Nicholai as they sat over a drink, Nicholai smiled and took a sip from his drink, he was going to marry her, she had something he needed, and marrying her will get it for him, he had tried multiple times to get it with money but it had been impossible so he figured approaching her will be the best move and he had done that only to find out they had to be married, well so long as he gets what he wanted, marriage wasn't all that hard.
"Yes Caleb, I am going to marry her, I already met her parents and they gave their blessings,"
"Wow, I never imagined you as the marrying type,"
"You never know until you meet the right person,"
He responded, he couldn't tell Caleb his plan, they may be friends but Nicholai had trust issues, he didn't trust anyone but himself, so he kept mostly to himself, people are betrayers and he had suffered that a couple of times in the past when he newly started his business, his dad had been a victim too and he never was able to get out of it.
"And the fact that she is an heiress too, man you are lucky, what am I even saying money attract money,"
Caleb said and Nicholai laughed, money really attracts money because if he was still the way he had been Fifteen years ago or even ten years ago, he was sure Olivia won't have looked at him twice, in fact, he wouldn't have met her.
"Well, I guess we are both lucky,"
"Wow, I must say I am still in shock, you getting married and to a Mills, that's something I never thought of, you surprise me every day, but good luck man,"
"Thanks, Caleb,"
Nicholai replied sipping his drink, he will marry Olivia and get what he wants, he had no plans of keeping the marriage, no marriage lasted forever, even his parent's marriage had crashed when his dad had lost everything, women-only loved money, as long as they are getting enough they are okay but when the money is no longer there they will run away, he knew Olivia was different, her father was a billionaire, she was born into money, which had attracted him to her in the first place, then he had found out she is the heir to what he had wanted for so long, what he tried to buy with money, it didn't take long for him to find out he needed to marry her to get his hands on it and when he asked her, she had agreed, he was a big fish to catch so he hadn't expected her to turn him down.
"Have you met with her family?"
"Yes I have, and they were welcoming,"
He replied although he didn't like how Olivia's mom had talked and talked and mostly about the expensive trips that she and her husband has been to and the expensive things they had, he had taken one look at her and decided she was a materialistic woman, maybe her daughter would be the same too, not as he cared, he had more to gain from this union and spending a few money would be okay.
"I heard they have another daughter, Olivia's twin, don't know if the rumor that they are twin is true but I know they gave another daughter,"
"Yes, Amelia, I haven't met her though, she wasn't around the day I went to see them,"
"Huh, if you don't mind hooking me up with her when you finally become a part of their family,"
Caleb said licking his lips.
"I can't hook any woman with a manwhore like you, you will dupe her in a few weeks and I can't let my sister-in-law be a prey,"
"Come on, men, what are friends for? I promise I will treat her right, who knows? She might be the one to change me,"
"Indeed, anyway, I have to meet her first, as it stands now, I only know her name,"
He replied.
"Yeah, but know that I asked first okay?"
"Whatever Caleb,"
"I trust you man,"
He said and they exchanged a few more words before he decided that he was done for the night.
"Caleb, I got to go, we talk some other time,"
Nick said, downing his glass of beer, before giving Caleb a handshake, he left the bar, his bodyguard following behind him, he had an early morning meeting the next day with the former owner of the property he just brought, he didn't like meeting up after payment have been made but the old woman wanted to see him and he couldn't turn her down, he hoped she wasn't going to make some impossible wish, acquiring the property had been easy, he didn't want stress now that he has gotten it, he had plans to tire the whole estate down and rebuild everything from stratch, the only place he might consider leaving untouched was the art shop, he met his soon to be wife there last time, he hadn't known she liked art, not like he knew much about her but since she was more of a designer and a model, he hadn't expected her to like art too, speaking of the lady, he hadn't spoken to her all day, when he entered his car, he brought out his phone and dialed her number, it rang but she didn't pick up.
"Maybe she is sleeping,"
He thought, dropping his phone and looking out through the window, the night was warm, he rolled down the glass and let the night wind pass through his face, he thought of how far he had come and how much work he had to do to come this far, the sleepless night he had to endure, going hungry for days, he had starved and worked his ass off to the top, with no backing from anyone, his parents, he couldn't even think about them, they both died in a fire accident, he had been only thirteen at that time, what he couldn't make out till this day was what they were doing together in that car that night, they separated about two years before the accident and his mother had gone ahead to remarry leaving him with his broke dad, when they had broken the news of their death to him, he had felt nothing, nothing, no pain or sympathy, the people that gave birth to him where strangers to him, before his father had gone broke, they were never around and when his father lost everything, his mother left and his father had resulted to alcohol leaving him to fend for himself at the young age of eleven, not many people knew of his dark past and he wanted it to stay that way.
"Enough,"
He said to himself, relaxing back in his car, he wasn't the broke young man anymore, he was worth billions, and in just a few shorts years he will be worth trillions, he was already working towards that, which is why he needed Olivia's land, it was a huge landed property and he planned on getting it from her and building his new dream hotels and resorts, the kind of hotels only the elites of elites can afford, he didn't mind getting married to her to get it, his phone started ringing, thinking it was Olivia, but it turned that to be the old lady whom he was supposed to meet the next morning, why was she calling him at almost nine pm, the woman was unbelievable.
"Hello, Margaret, good evening,"
He said in greeting.
"Good evening Nicholai, I am going to go straight to the point, I don't want to take much of your time,"
Margaret said, Nick, wondered what she wanted to say to him that couldn't wait until they meet by tomorrow.
"Okay, I am listening,"
"Right, I know we are supposed to be meeting tomorrow but I have an appointment with my doctor which is why I am going to cancel but instead, I want to invite you for a dinner party holding at my place, you can bring your woman, the other person we talked about last time will be present, you said you wanted to meet him,"
She revealed, wow, he thought, the woman was fast, he had only told her about wanting to meet the owner of the property next to the one he bought from her and she had promised to get through to him, if all went well, he could get that too, he smiled to himself as he responded to her.
"Yes Margaret, when is the party holding? I will make sure to be there,"
"The day after tomorrow, that's all I wanted to tell you, do have a goodnight,"
She said and ended the call before he could respond.
"Rude,"
He said out loud but he didn't mind, she could be rude all she wants, so long as he gets what he wants, he texted Olivia since she wouldn't take his call, he just hoped she didn't have any excuses, she was fond of giving him excuses and he didn't like it, the only reasons he was tolerating her was because he didn't want her to feel choked and back out, once they were married he will make his stances clear, he and his business comes first and she should do well to remember that.
