CHAPTER 6 ONE MORE NIGHT RESORTS

The ride was an awkward and boring one as they both kept silent without speaking to each other.

Madison was boiling with anger inside of her as she thought of what Jason had said about her.

Jason tried to steal a glance at her face. He wondered why she was so angry. She looked at him scornfully and turned away. That look sent a shrill down his spine and he turned away immediately.

Not that he was afraid of her, He just doesn't want anything to do with her. He looked at her dress and tried to laugh. This girl is far from his type. She doesn't even know when to wear the right thing. No fashion sense, he said to himself silently.

The ride continued awkwardly until Jason realized he doesn't even have a place in mind to take her to.

Should he ask? He thought. He summoned the courage and broke the silence.

"Um where would you like us to go?" He asked in a cold manner but she didn't respond.

He looked at her and wondered what type of a lady she is.

"I just asked a question," Jason said again.

"You came to my house to take me out. You should know better where we are going! " she snapped without looking at his face.

"I was just asking to know your taste" He said and

She gave him a stern look.

"Oh really? You believe I have taste?" She asked. Jason looked at her in surprise, trying to know what she meant.

"Everyone have taste" he said

"Oh then, it would be nice if you respect people's taste and not criticize them" she said as she looked through the car window.

Jason guessed she was driving at something and he wanted to know what she meant.

"Well, you haven't seen me criticize people have you?" He asked

"Oh no, but I heard you criticize people's taste in fashion and you view them as having zero fashion sense" she said, feeling satisfied that she has finally hit the nail on the head.

Jason was caught off guard by her last words. Yes he had said those words but how did she find out? he thought. "Oh no, mother again," He said to himself. But how could she let Madison know that he had said those words about her.

Was that the reason behind the angry face? He thought and smirked. If so, then she should be ready for more as he was going to make tonight miserable for her, he said to himself.

"Oh you heard that? it's a good thing then, at least you need to know the truth" he said feeling unconcerned.

Madison looked at him with disbelief. She was expecting an apology but she got the opposite from him. This guy is a total jerk, she thought to herself.

"I would have been offended by that statement if only the jerk who made it could dress like a normal human for once," she said with sarcasm and chuckled.

Jason frowned. "What are you trying to say? That I don't dress like a normal human? Are you trying to say I dress abnormally?" He asked angrily

"Oh no darling, you said so yourself," she said with a smirk on her face.

"Seems like you're looking for a fight tonight, I'm not your playmate you should know that!" He snapped and she laughed.

"Who do you think you are Jason? No matter how much you think you've grown, you'll still be under my fingers just like the good old days!!" She said with a sinister smile on her face.

"You're just jealous of me ok!! Jealous that I'm more classy than you!! " He fired back

"Class? Oh you talking about class now," she said with a grin forming on the corner side of her mouth.

" I don't have class but you couldn't do a single assignment without me back then. I don't have class but I was the one who made it out of college with a proper result. I was the one who won the scholarship to Oxford. I was the one who studied at Oxford, And I am the one with a proper job now. Gosh, you can't even stand where I tend to stand, you can't even roll with the kind of people I've rolled with. Have you had the opportunity of meeting with the queen of England before? Do you even stand a chance to dine with her? And you sit down here in your shabby car talking about class?" Madison poured out.

Jason was speechless. He so much hated this lady with passion that he felt like strangling her right away.

"Time will tell," he said without looking at her.

His day had turned sour already. She looked away from him. Not that she liked boasting about her achievements but what he said about her was so clumsy. She felt bad talking to him that way and reminding him of him being a dullard at school. She looked at him and noticed the sadness on his face. He looked at her and their eyes met. They both looked away immediately and the rest of the journey was taken over by silence.

They got to a place called " ONE MORE NIGHT RESORT".

It was so beautiful that Madison forgot about the already soured night she was having. She came out of the car and looked at the trees, the beach and so many people catching fun. She loved what she was seeing. If she had come with Dave it would have been better, she thought.

Jason looked at her and walked away while she followed behind him angrily. As they were walking, some girls rushed towards them and hugged Jason. They were all dressed in bikinis. They were looking so beautiful and one could easily tell they were classy ladies.

"A selfie please…" they screamed one after the other.

"Yeah babes, come on," Jason said excitedly while holding the girls to himself.

Madison watched in disgust as he took pictures with the girls. She felt he was trying to spite her as he looked at her with a smirk on his face.

"Hey I would love to feature on one of your magazines" one of the girls said after the pictures.

"Oh, Here's my personal contact ok?Feel free to call me," Jason said. The girls giggled excitedly as they took his contact

"We're your big fans!!!!" They said happily as they screamed for joy.

Madison watched as they left in excitement. She felt really disgusted at their attitudes. Jason turned to her and smiled

" This is what I mean when I'm talking about class. This is the real class, girl. You can dine with the Queen for all I care, but you see this Lagos city? I'm the king here!! This is my city and I'll expect you to respect the king when he speaks" He said with his shoulders soaring high as he walked.

Madison held herself from flaring up; she shouldn't have agreed to this outing, she thought.

They soon settled down at a bar which was filled with a lot of high class personalities. Some waved at Jason as he sat down with Madison.

His ego soared higher as he believed that by now Madison would learn to respect him.

"What can I get you Sir/ ma'am?" A bar attendant asked immediately they sat down. Jason looked at madison.

"What would you like to have?" he asked

"Get me a bottle of water, " She replied with her eyes on her phone.

Jason eyed her. "Too reserved," he said to himself. He wasn't going to pressure her to take anything.

"Um, get me a bottle of champagne and I'll like some barbecues too," He said to the attendant who nodded and left.

Jason looked at Madison who was now admiring the surroundings. She wasn't even paying any attention to him. He felt an urge to make her feel bad again since his words could cut through her skin. Maybe this would make her hate him more and this marriage would not work.

"So why did you choose just water? You don't drink?" he asked and she gave him a cold stare.

"No, and how is that your business?"

"Because I don't like ladies who are too well reserved, they're far from my type" He said, smiling

"What do you expect from a lady who's spent most of her life in England? She ought to be well reserved, and well disciplined. If you had spent your life over there, I don't think you would be this undisciplined like you are right now," she said scornfully.

Jason felt her words slice through his skin.

He was already boiling with anger until he saw the bar attendant and a lady walking in with his drink and the barbecues. He felt his mood lightened as the smell of the barbecues filled his nostrils.

Madison was offered her bottle of water which she sipped gently.

"You know, when we walked in I saw the way you admired this place, it seems you like it, '' Jason said as he ate his barbecues slowly.

"oh yeah, it's beautiful" she replied

"But it's not for well reserved people like you. As you can see, the people here are full of life. They have a high sense of fashion and these same people, I have seen you admire since we came. Which shows how much you want to be like them but you can't. I can see how much you try to be full of life but you can't. You're just so boring and it's a pity any man would want a lady like you," Jason said slowly without looking at her face.

Tonight is a battle of words, Madison thought as she pressed her lips together in anger.

"And it's a pity that you couldn't get a successful and intelligent lady like me. All you could get were those street girls, those prostitutes in bikinis who can't even spell their own names. What was I expecting? that you could get a girl more better than you? oh no," she laughed. "I forgot that you can only get ladies who are as low-brained as you are and that is the more reason your dad had to go looking for a bride for you since you can't even bring a responsible lady home," Madison said with a chuckle.

"Those ladies are better than you! And I would like you to meet my girlfriend. She is more respectful, more beautiful, well shaped and she has a degree. That is what I call beauty with brains. But you, you're just a brain without beauty and at the same time a beauty without brains!! Get that into your fucking skull!!" he slammed and continued eating.

Madison looked at him in disgust. This outing was supposed to at least make them know each other more and probably make them friends but her parents just made the worst mistake of their lives by making her go out with Jason.

Because she hates him even more now. And she's going to do all she can for this marriage not to work out between them. She sighed and looked at her wristwatch. It was almost 8:30 pm and She doesn't stay up late nights.

"What's the plan, we have to act now before it gets too late cause I can't even spend a day together with you not to talk of a lifetime. Somebody's gonna die I swear!!" she said angrily

"The plan is the same. Try to get both families together and sort this out" Jason said

"I don't think it's gonna work" she protested

"Then let me hear yours" he said

"I don't have any" she replied anxiously

"Then stick to the available one" he said and sipped his drink.

"Fine, I need to go home now, I don't stay late at night," she said, looking at her wristwatch.

"Miss well reserved lady, you can't expect me to just leave this whole thing and take you home" he said pointing to his drink and barbecues.

"Meet me in the car outside" she said and picked up his car keys on the table and left

"Madison!!"...... he called but she already left and he continued with his drink.

Madison walked out to the parking lot. The resort was still filled with people. She wondered how they could manage to still be out by this hour. She saw a lot of girls relaxing at the beach.

There was a carnival taking place at the beach. Everyone was happily drinking and dancing. Jason was right. She so much admired these people but she can't just be like them she said to herself. She opened the car and got inside. She called Dave but he wasn't picking. She just hopes he comes sooner to meet her parents. She loves him so much and she can't even imagine spending the rest of her life with someone other than him.

After about thirty minutes of waiting, she looked at the time and it was already past 9. She fumed out of the car to look for Jason. She got to the bar and couldn't find him. He could have gone out to meet her at the parking lot she assumed.

She walked back to the parking lots to see if he was there.

She was almost there, when she saw him at the carnival with some ladies dancing and laughing with bottles of liquor in their hands. She bit her lips in anger and fumed out to the parking lots.

She entered the car, ignited the engine and drove off immediately without minding if she gets lost or not.
