>Fatal Sweety>Chapter 6 Avoiding Her
Chapter 6 Avoiding Her
On the way back to the company, Maggie looked so sullen that Reese didn't dare to ask about the details. As soon as they arrived at the Red Maple office, their boss called them over. The subject was the same. Maggie was asked to regain the partnership with Jorme. Their year-end dividends depended on the cash cow.
"Sir, there is still a long time to go before the end of this year. We can develop new clients and fill the gap left by Jorme."
"True, but the partnership with Jorme is the key to unlocking new business. You know, great trees are good for nothing but shade. Soon, the news of Jorme terminating the partnership will spread far and wide. Jorme has nothing to lose, but we'll be in trouble." The boss said, "Anyway, nail it. As long as you persuade them, I'll give you a bonus even if you close zero tickets in the second half of the year."
Maggie found it hard to express her bitter feelings. She wanted to tell her boss about Charlie's attitude. On second thought, she knew it would be pointless since her boss cared about nothing but results.
Crestfallen, the two got out of the office and silently went back to their cubicles.
"What to do, boss?"
"What can we do? Continue the talk with Charlie. Our boss is persistent about it. If we fail the task, we'll have a hard time." Maggie said, "The terms won't be the same. Even so, our boss needs Jorme as his cash cow. Well, you'll optimize the proposal with the team, and I'll talk with Charlie."
"Got it."
Maggie decided to give full play to her fighting spirit and perseverance as she did when she first entered the workplace. She would go to Jorme and have another meeting with Charlie. Only the man meant his words.
The classmate card no longer worked.
Moreover, she could feel that Charlie was avoiding her.
Since she couldn't meet him in the office, she had to think of other ways.
She switched cars with Leighton, parked near Charlie's MPV in the parking lot of Jorme Building, and bided her time.
The shift was over, but Charlie didn't come down.
Maggie could understand it. There was no way executives would get off work so early, not to mention that Charlie was newly appointed.
She waited till around 10 p.m. The headlights of the MPV flashed, and a drowsy Maggie instantly sobered up. Looking over, she saw Charlie in the car and the driver going back to the cab.
In a short while, the car drove away. Maggie waited for a while and quickly followed.
"Sir, we've got a tail." The driver soon noticed it.
Charlie slightly raised his eyes, "Drive as usual."
"Yes, sir."
Maggie followed the MPV to the entrance of an upscale apartment complex. Unable to enter, she parked the car by the road, walked to the gate, and tried to muddle through. Unexpectedly…
"Excuse me, ma'am." The security guard stopped her, "You're not a residence here, right? Who are you looking for? Make a call and have yourself picked up."
"My friend just entered… in that car." Maggie pointed to the car.
"Call him to pick you up. No outsiders are allowed to get in randomly." The security guard said seriously.
"I'll tell you my ID. That one is really my friend." Maggie said.
The security guard sized her up and still refused, "Sorry, rules are rules."
Without a choice, Maggie went back.
As soon as she got in the car, the MPV came out, and an idea suddenly crossed her mind.
