Chapter 10 You're Advised to Conduct Yourself

Maggie was rejected countless times.

Not long ago, Red Maple submitted the tender paper to Jorme, but the latter rejected it without any comments. This was a flat rejection.

Not convinced, Maggie went to meet Charlie for an explanation.

The receptionist remembered her face, saw her persistence, and sympathized with her. When she came out to get the takeout, she advised, "Miss Ethel, you should stop coming here. Mr. Wilson has issued an order. He won't see anyone from Red Maple, especially you."

"What?"

"Unlike last time, this is a clear order. The girl took a sympathetic look at her and went back to the front desk with her takeout.

Dejected, Maggie went back to Red Maple. She had no idea what went wrong.

"Boss, you still didn't see Charlie today?"

"Mm, he issued an order to reject our visits. To be precise, he refuses to see me." Maggie said helplessly, "How did I offend him?"

"Well, ask yourself." Reese scratched his head.

"I'll try to meet him tonight and ask him." Maggie pounded the desk angrily, "As an executive of a big company, he doesn't distinguish public from private interests. This is unprofessional practice."

In the evening, she went to the community where Charlie lived.

Given the previous experience, she thought she could pass through the gate smoothly.

However…

"Sorry, ma'am, Mr. Wilson has instructed us against letting you enter."

"What?"

"According to Mr. Wilson, he is not familiar with you, so…" The security guard shrugged, "We almost got a complaint about our negligence last time. Please don't make it hard for us."

Maggie was thoroughly enraged, "Okay, don't worry, I'll just wait here!"

Around 8 p.m., the headlights were cast over. From across the street, Maggie jerked up, rushed to the gate, and blocked the way, "Charlie, get off!"

"Sir." Startled, the driver looked back at Charlie.

"I'll get off. You can go now." Charlie said after pondering for a while.

As he got out of the car, Maggie strode up, "What do you mean?"

"I don't get it," Charlie replied indifferently.

"You know it yourself. Charlie, I came to see you for business. With 100% sincerity, Red Maple plans to participate in the bidding, and we're doing our best to fix the issues you raised earlier. Who do you avoid me? And you issued that kind of order to your subordinates. What do you mean?" Maggie yelled at him, "On what grounds do you force Red Maple out of the bidding and reject our proposal?"

"I don't need any." Charlie answered, "It won’t change anything. Jorme won't work with Red Maple."

"Why?"

"No reason." Charlie said, "Besides, your behavior has caused serious distress to me. If you keep on doing this, I'll call the police. You're advised to conduct yourself." He said indifferently, turned around, and walked into the community.

"Charlie!" Maggie stomped her feet, "Argh…"

Maggie watched the man disappear, took a deep breath, and grudgingly turned away.

Back in the car, she called her assistant, "Reese, keep filing applications. I don't believe he'll reject us every time."
