Chapter 34

Aiden's Point of View

I didn't chase him. I stayed there like an idiot while my tears were flowing down my cheeks.

"What the hell? What's wrong with that one?" Jacob asked. He must be shocked by Wyatt's sudden action.

Yuan clicked his tongue, "He's not ready to inform everyone about him and Aiden yet."

"You are thinking too much, what if he ran to find out where the photo came from," said Hans.

Because of what he said, I felt relief in my chest. What if that was really Wyatt's intention so he ran and left us? Did I just overthink and only think about my selfish feelings? I hope that was really the case, for the reason that I don't want him to leave me just because of the leaked photo.

"You can tell what he was thinking if you just saw his eyes, Hans," Jacob patted Hans' shoulder, like he was telling that Hans was wrong and that he should be more honest to himself.

Yuan sighed, "Just stay here until you hear the bell, okay? I'll try to chase down Wyatt and talk to him."

"I'm coming with you," Jacob said. Before Yuan could answer, he pulled him out of the rooftop. Hans and I were left there both staring at the closed door.

I looked blankly at the door while preventing myself from shedding more tears. After a few minutes of silence, I felt Hans holding my arm.

"Hey," he got my attention. I turned to him and just stared at him until he spoke again, "Don't think about negative things. We should always think positively," he uttered with a smile.

I clenched my lips and nodded, "Yeah..."

We stayed there for a few more minutes until we heard the bell ring. We would have waited for the two to come back but they didn't come back. That's why Hans and I decided to go back to the classroom after hearing the bell ring.

When we arrived at the classroom, my eyes immediately went to Wyatt. I was happy to see that Wyatt was there while Jacob and Yuan were behind him. I thought I would not see him here.

Our eyes met. I immediately smiled and was ready to raise my hand to wave at him when he immediately turned his eyes to someone else.

Shall I lie again? I don't even need to say that I wasn't hurt by what he did because I know that I was only fooling myself.

I also avoided his gaze and quietly sat in my chair, while Hans sat next to his friends.

I still went to class so that I could at least have knowledge of the lectures that were going to be discussed. But I couldn't focus because my classmates kept whispering. I'm not sure if they meant for me to hear what they were talking about or if their voices were just really loud.

"Like eww~ a guy to a guy? Aren't they supposed to be best friends? Why did they suddenly have an issue with their relationship?"

"Yeah, right? Gosh, so gross~"

"You two, there!" The professor pointed her index finger in my direction so I felt nervous. However, when she recited the last names of the two talking behind me, I was relieved, "Romero and Havanes stop talking in my lecture time. This is the first and last warning, if I hear you once again I will kick you out of the class, understand?!"

"Yes, ma'am. We're sorry," Romero apologized but I know that she didn't mean it. Nevertheless, I'm pleased that they got lectured and the first word that came out of my mind was, 'deserved'. Yeah, they deserved that scolding and humiliation.

After class, I left the room first to move to another classroom for our next subject. I don't have any friends besides Hans, so who will I wait to walk with me?

I've spent less than half the time in my class all day yet I want to go home right away. I feel very tired even though all I did earlier was sit in my chair and listen to the lectures as well as listen to the conversation of my other classmates.

They had no other topic but the picture they saw. Wyatt and I are in the picture but why do they seem to be mad at only me? They even manage to talk to Wyatt like they didn't see the picture of him with me. They still acted friendly towards him while they were disgusted towards me. Wow, I really can't.

"Aiden,"

I turned to my left when I heard my name. I smiled when I saw Hans. Maybe it's not obvious that my smile is fake, is it? Hans doesn't seem to be good at feeling other people's feelings—

"Ouch! What the heck?" My brows furrowed while caressing the tip of my nose. What the hell is his problem, pinching my nose all of a sudden?

"Don't look at me with those eyes," he clicked his tongue and rolled his eyes. "Want some candy?"

I pouted and leaned back to my seat, "No, thanks. What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be with your friends?"

"No, my ass. Here," I just said no but he still gave me one. This man, really. If he had given it to me in the end, he wouldn't have asked. "Anyways, I don't need to always sit by them. You need someone to talk to more than them right now. Are you okay?"

"Yeah... I guess," I answered while opening the candy he gave me.

Maybe I’m okay for now. I just don't know in the next few days if I will still be okay.

°°°°

2 days have passed. I tried to talk to him many times yet I always lost my chance.

I feel that he also avoids me because when I have a chance to approach him, he will immediately approach other people so that I can't get close to him.

Two days have passed but we still haven't discussed what we should do in our relationship. I don't even know if we are still together or not. Shouldn't we have discussed whether we should continue our relationship, whether we should keep it a secret or whether we should admit it to everyone, and whether we should end it. But we haven't discussed any of that yet. He had no plans to clarify everything.

Shall I just guess what our status is?

During the two days we didn't talk, he didn't come to the condo either. Even if we could just talk there, that's fine with me. I stayed up late waiting for him until dawn but I didn't see even a glimpse of his shadow. That's why I thought that maybe I should make a way if I really want to talk to him. Since nothing will happen if I just wait, I have to act too.

I gulped. My heart is panicking, I can't calm it down. I bit my lower lip while my hands were holding each other as if praying. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath before I pressed the doorbell.

Yes, I'm in front of his house right now. I really want to see him. I want to talk and see him so badly.

When the gate opened, it was their housemaid who greeted me first.

"Uhm, is Wyatt there?" I asked, still a little shy.

"Yes, his family is with him inside as well as—" she didn't finish what she had to say, she turned behind her when someone spoke.

"Who are you talking to?"

"It's Sir Aiden," she answered.

"What?! Go, you can go back in there," after I heard that voice, at the same time as the maid left in front of me, the gate opened wide. Cynthia suddenly appeared smiling. "Aiden!" She screamed my name then hugged me tightly.

"Is Wyatt there? I would like to talk to him," I asked after she let go of me.

"Why? Did you two fight?" she asked. She grabbed my hand and pulled me inside.

"No," I replied as she closed the gate.

After she finished closing the gate, she faced me. She put her arm around mine and pulled me to walk.

"Do you know Wyatt's ex-girlfriend?" she asked.

"Hmm? W-Who?"

I don't know but I was suddenly nervous. Cynthia might not be referring to Aida, right?

She looked up as if thinking, "Who was that again? Hmm... Angela? Angelica? Aish! I can't remember."

"Is it Aida?" I asked. We are now in the living room and are sitting down.

"Huh?" She turned to me with a hint of shock in her eyes, "Isn't that his girlfriend now? They broke up?"

Huh? It's like we don't understand each other. Damn. So, does that mean she's not referring to Aida?

"Oh, uh..." What's Wyatt's ex's name again? The name also starts with the letter A. Hmm... "Are you talking about Agleen?"

"Ah! That's it!"

"Have you known each other that long?" I asked curiously.

She shook her head, "Nope. Regie is the only one who knows her and you too."

"Just us? So, how did you know he had an ex-girlfriend?"

"Of course he told me himself just now," she sighed. "But I don't like her. I don't know, she has this aura that I hate. My goodness, I still prefer Aida over her," she crossed her arms. "Have you seen her? Aida, I mean. She looked a lot like you."

What does she mean by 'she has this aura that she hates'? Has she seen Agleen in person?

"Uh, yeah," I smiled. "What about you? Have you met Agleen? In the way you speak, it's as if you've met."

Her expression changed all of a sudden. She rolled her eyes in the air, "Geez, she's here now and grandpa is eating with them in the dining room." She clicked her tongue, "Nevermind her. By the way, have you eaten? Do you want to eat?"

"Who?" I asked. Suddenly my palm got cold. "Who did they eat with Wyatt today?"

"Agleen, Wyatt's ex-girlfriend," she answered. "Why?"

Why? I should be the one to ask that. Why is Wyatt here with that girl? Why are they now at the same table with his grandfather? Has he introduced that girl to his family? So, what am I to him now? What about us?

Instead of running to the dining area to confirm what Cynthia said, I just stayed by her side.

I smiled then shook my head, "No, I just asked." I answered.
