Chapter 5 I Am Going to Beg Him Anyway
The skyscraper of the Brown Group was located in the economic development zone of Sea City. This building had always been a landmark of Sea City.
It was now August and the weather was very hot, and by the time she walked downstairs to the Brown Group, Cana was sweating profusely.
It was not only hot and tired, maybe it was more fear of the future.
She could have asked Helen to borrow money, but wasn't there a saying that says 'help the urgent, not the poor'? she agreed with Ada on one sentence, that was, her mother's illness was a bottomless pit and she couldn't let Helen help her every time.
Cana was just a junior student. She had no way to make money, nor did she have the ability to make money. She had nothing but herself.
The reflective glass of the magnificent building radiated an icy light in the sun, which was in sharp contrast to the hot weather.
She took a deep breath and walked into the building, but was stopped by the receptionist.
Cana said neither humble nor overbearing, "I would like to meet with Aaron."
The receptionist looked at the young girl who called the president by his name, withheld sarcasm and showed the official smile. "Do you have an appointment?
Cana was stunned, shaking her head.
The formal answer from the receptionist, "I'm sorry, Miss, our president is busy. You need to make an appointment in advance if you want to see him."
"Okay, thank you."
Cana bowed her head and went out.
However, she must meet Aaron today. She needed money badly.
So, Cana walked to the flower bed not far away, and sat on the edge.
Sitting like that, a few hours went by.
It was until evening; Cana saw the figure of the man coming out of the building.
The driver stood beside the car, helping him open the door respectfully.
Cana's eyes suddenly burst into waves. She stood up and rushed to his car desperately.
The driver braked abruptly, and even Aaron who was sitting behind staggered.
The driver was frightened with cold sweat, "I am sorry, President, it's my fault."
Aaron saw the white dress that he had sought out for her in the morning.
As a result, it was rare that the normally stern president didn't blame the driver, but simply said softly, "Let her get in the car."
After getting in the car, Cana whispered, "Hello, Mr. Brown."
The man did not care about her but focused on the files on the laptop in his hands.
Cana tried to curl up on the other side, clinging to the door tightly, as far away from him as she could.
This was an extended version of the business car, and the space in the car was spacious enough. But sitting beside him, Cana still felt that the air was full of oppression.
She wanted to shrink herself into a small ball, and she wanted the car to never reach its destination.
On the way, Cana secretly glanced at the man next to her.
His clothes were not as meticulous as they were this morning, and his suit jacket was casually placed on the car seat. The cuffs of a clean white shirt were rolled up, and the wheat-colored arms were vigorous and powerful.
His fingers were clean and slender, like those of a piano player, he skillfully tapped on the laptop keyboard.
Cana's eyes gradually moved up, because the sky outside was dark, and the afterglow of the setting sun painted his side profile in a perfect arc.
Probably because the mail had been processed, the man closed his laptop, leaned on the back of the chair, and breathed a soft sigh of relief. He pinched the acupuncture point on the bridge of his nose and relaxed briefly.
Cana did not have the habit of peeping, she was also very depressed, why she stared at Aaron for so long just now.
The car still drove to the Royal Water Bay, which they left this morning. This was a famous high-end apartment in Sea City. People lived here were some business celebrities or political elites.
The greening of the community was well done and it was near the mountain and by the river, however, Cana had no time to enjoy it at the moment.
Following Aaron, they came to his house on the 20th floor.
After entering the door, Aaron turned on the light, poured a glass of white water, and sat on the sofa.
The deep and sharp black eyes stared at the girl who was at a loss in front of him, and there seemed to be a sneer in the corner of his lips. "So? Change your mind so quickly?"
