Chapter 5 She remembered

Susan's eyes lit up, "Yes, yes, it's that wicked girl Stella who's lazy, Mother, look, she's back early at this time of the week, but she didn't come back until now, she must be doing it on purpose!

"Aunt Susan, what do you mean I did it on purpose?"

Stella's voice suddenly came through the door, she dragged a lot of firewood, deliberately came back without a break, her hair was covered in sweat.

Lisa forked his waist, ''You just came back? Why don't you cook?"

Stella had an innocent face, ''Cooking, isn't that aunt Susan's business? I came back at this time because I went to collect firewood."

She moved to the side so everyone could see the firewood she had hauled back from the yard.

There was obviously a lot more firewood than what Lisa and Tammy had brought back, and no one could say that she was being lazy.

"Susan, you're not going without cooking, are you? Grandpa and uncle have been tired all day, they won't even be able to eat a hot bite of rice, right?"

Stella's heart-wrenching tone made Susan's teeth tingle, how did she suddenly become so smart which didn't like her used to be?

In her previous life, in the face of Lisa's questioning, this girl must not be able to say a word and would hurry to apologize, then went to the kitchen to get busy, and everyone would acquiesce that it was her fault.

But how dare Stella accuse her of something wrong?

Susan wanted to get angry, but she heard a "snap" and the table was slapped heavily, "Stella, how did you talk to your aunt?"

The person who spoke was George, his eyes glared, Stella used to be most afraid of him like this.

But at this moment, Stella pretended she didn't understand, ''Uncle, did I say something wrong? Aren't you hungry? Even if you're not hungry, grandpa should be hungry. Grandma always say grandpa's stomach is bad and can't stand hungry. I remember it all, isn't it, grandma?''

Stella was not afraid to look towards Linda, who did not like her, but it was a matter of concern to Tim, she nodded her head in an unprecedented manner.

"Look, look, Stella remembers, you lazy piggy-backer actually stayed home all day and didn't even cook a meal! Did you break your arm or your leg or did you do it on purpose? You don't have to eat either! Stella, you go to cook."

"It's my pleasure."

Stella obliged and went to the kitchen in a flash.

Susan's face went white for a moment. She was in the family for a long time and was daughter-in-law of the family, how could she be punished to eat nothing!

Wasn't this the exclusive treatment for Stella?

She couldn't stay here any longer, and as soon as she turned her head to go back into the house, anyway, her daughter would sneak her some food, just too humiliating!

In the kitchen, Stella was in a good mood.

She had already got used to cook. What's more ,the key was that she can make Susan suffer a defeat, which makes her very happy.

While cooking, Stella washed and cut a few dishes, rubbed the bottom of the pot with a grease cloth, after a bit of oil splatter, put the dishes into the pot, stirred, the aroma rose up, after adding water, put the cut potatoes into the stew.

In another pot, Stella mixed a bowl of coarse noodles, added some minced natural vegetables, stirred it up and began to spread the pie.

This kind of vegetable cake was actually not very good-taste, but it would certainly taste different if you could put a few eggs in it.

Stella thought regretfully, the Judd family's eggs were all to be saved to sell, when she went out on her own, she must eat eggs every day.

Although there were no eggs, the vegetable cakes Stella made were also fragrant, and by the time she brought the meals to the table, the eyes of the already hungry Judd family members turned green.

A simple potato stew, a plate of vegetable cakes, coarse-grain rice, and a simple wild vegetable soup, the aroma of them provoked the appetite so much.
