Chapter 30. The Next Room
Diana thought that this matter could not be concealed anyway. Sooner or later, Louis would know it.
She said swiftly: "It was the day after we quarreled in the study room. Grandma called me to the meditation room when aunt Rita was also there. Grandma asked me if I had any grudges with you. I didn't know how to answer. Just say I want to go out to work and then quarrel with you. "
"It's as simple as that?" This explanation was too simple to be suspicious. Louis did not believe that Amanda would agree to Diana's request because of such a simple sentence.
Diana did also not understand why Amanda would agree. She looked blankly at Louis. "I didn't know either. I was worried that she didn't believe me. "
Louis stunned. "Restate your original words."
Looking at his fierce gaze, Diana swallowed nervously. Suddenly, in her heart, she had a trace of suspicion that she had promised him the conditions just now. This man's woman was not in a good condition.
"Speak quickly." When Louis didn't get Diana's answer for a while, he urged impatiently.
Diana bit her scalp and said: "I said at the time, you told me to go to the study room to know my uncle's condition, and then I saw a document about the Ancient Silk Design Competition in your study room. When I asked to join this project, you got angry somehow. Later, Grandma told me that she would let you arrange a job for me after a few days. "
She looked away and lowered her eyelids, not daring to see Louis's expression.
In the flashlight, Louis wanted to understand Amanda's thoughts. Amanda must have arranged for Diana to be beside him. This stupid woman had not been known before. He wanted to return to this. Louis did not tell Diana about this idea, nor did he remind her to be careful with Amanda's questioning.
"I'll let you go to work if Grandma mentions it." Louis quietly made a trap for Diana, and by the way, did a favor.
Sure enough, Diana was surprised and happy to let her go, and she showed a rare smile to Louis. "Are you serious?"
Louis's heart was shocked. Because of a job opportunity, she was so happy that Diana was so clean and dazzling.
"The house you’ve rented, I've already let you back out." Louis looked away. He did not want to continue the topic. "You live in the residence first. I will arrange for you to move out after a while."
Diana's eyes were filled with anger when she heard what he said before. Why did he dispose of her things without permission? However, when she heard what he said later, her anger in her eyes changed. From the moment turned to obvious joy.
It was the only good thing that had happened since she had been able to move out of the cautious and oppressive family.
She nodded and said: "Okay." After thinking about it, she asked again: "May I ask, can I drive by myself?"
"Are you worried that I will use the driver to threaten you like this?" Louis frowned.
This was one of the reasons, but Diana did not intend to admit it. She pouted and said: "I just think it's a lot of people, so it's better for me to drive by myself."
Louis stared at Diana's face. "I think about it."
When Diana heard this, she could not help sighing of relief. She hesitated and asked: "How did you handle Bob?"
"You don't need a full-time driver anymore. You still need to care about his job?" Louis's words were filled with ridicule.
If it had not been for Louis to threaten Diana with him, Diana would have jumped off the terrace earlier. Diana resisted the anger in her heart and continued to ask gently: "I just want to know the result of this matter." She thought that she had paid such a big price, so she had the right to know the result.
"Don't worry, I didn't fire him." Louis said: "But he will be transferred to the company to be the driver."
As long as he was not unemployed, Diana was relieved.
"About my uncle's heart disease, you said last time that you can handle it. Can I ask how it is going now?" This was one of the incentives for her to make a good relationship with Louis.
Louis said: "I've already sent someone to find it. It's probably not that fast. After all, it's the heart, not other organs. I'll tell you when it's found."
Diana nodded. "Thank you."
Louis said expressionlessly: "Since I promised you, I will do it. You don't have to thank me."
Diana did not think that she wanted to. She did not expect Louis to say something nice. She just did what she should do. Louis helped her, so she thanked him.
"I asked Grace to arrange a room for you." He suddenly said this sentence that made Diana startled.
What did he mean by arranging the room? She looked at Louis puzzled.
Louis said unhurriedly: "When you stayed in Britannia, you stayed in that room."
Diana spent a few times in her mind to understand what he meant. It turned out that he did not want to sleep with her.
This was really beyond desire.
"Grace, the one you asked her to make a soup?" She asked.
"That's right." Louis said, "She's the butler and cook. If you need anything, ask her."
Diana laughed sarcastically in her heart. She was just a doll when he needed it. This place was not her home, and she had to stay for a night, then left. What could she need?
Although she thought in her heart, she still said: "Okay." After she finished speaking, she tried to get up and asked: "Which room did Grace arrange for? I'll go now."
She got down from the bed wrapped in blankets, her feet touching the ground, legs fighting, and she was unsteady, then she fell to the bed.
Louis frowned almost invisibly. He took a dry towel from the bathroom, lifted the quilt, covered her with a towel, and then picked her up and carried her to the bed in the room next door.
When Diana was picked up, she was taken aback. She always kept saying thank you. But this time, she didn’t say anything until Louis put her on the bed. It was because of this man that she became like this now. He should take care of her.
However, Louis's care was only to put Diana on the bed.
Diana was stunned as she watched him put her down and then turned around to leave the house. He did not even say a word to her, so she quickly stopped him.
