Chapter 8 Going to Christ Garden
Two thick and huge carved iron gates slowly opened, and Nathan's car continued its way inside.
Behind the round fountain pool was a time-honored villa which looked like a late medieval castle.
Simona caught a glimpse of the wooden sign at the entrance...
The characters 'Christ Garden' were written on it.
While she was in a trance, Nathan already grabbed her hand and led her inside.
Simona was shocked right after they entered the door.
This place was even more luxurious than the villa they stayed for last night.
Besides shock, she found the atmosphere of the place a little eerie.
The old butler came up and bowed respectfully, "Sir, Old Mr. Christ is waiting for you."
At the sight of the pair, Old Mr. Christ beamed in his wheelchair, "Heh heh, is this my granddaughter-in-law?"
Nathan glanced at Old Mr. Christ indifferently, "Simona, meet grandpa."
"G... grandpa, nice to meet you." Simona's heart was thumping like a drum.
Now she needed to stay calm and act according to the circumstances.
Old Mr. Christ stared at Simona for quite a while, nodded in satisfaction, and instructed a servant by his side, "Mrs. Jean, take Simona for a walk in the courtyard."
Simona immediately grabbed Nathan's finger, "Simo... Simona stays with h... hubby."
Nathan cast his eyes down and reassured her in a soft tone, "Go ahead, I'll join you in a minute."
Mrs. Jean walked to Simona and sized her up unceremoniously.
Tsk, she was really dull.
She grabbed Simona's hand and gave a spurious smile, "Come on, go with me. I'll get something delicious for you."
Simona was left speechless...
Heh, she really treated her like a fool.
As no others were in the study, Nathan's face instantly turned colder, "You ask me to marry a retard, and I've done it. Grandpa, when will you honor your promise?"
Old Mr. Christ sighed slightly, "Three years ago you were already the CEO of Christ Group, and now every policy is decided by you. Yet you are still not satisfied?"
This grandson of his was only 28 and already reached the pinnacle of power.
No others in North City had done such a feat.
"Grandpa, you made a promise to me back then. Now you plan to go back on your words?"
Old Mr. Christ closed his eyes and spoke in a deep tone, "What you want is the entire Christ Family."
"When you and Simona get your marriage certificate and become a lawful couple, I'll honor my promise. You have my words."
Nathan smiled coldly, "Marriage certificate? Anytime."
Old Mr. Christ veered his wheelchair forward and slowly opened his eyes, "Indeed I need you to marry Simona, but the kid is still in school. If you suddenly marry a student, what would the media depict the event? Are you trying to defame the Christ and the Sam families?"
Nathan's eyebrows furrowed slightly.
Although Simona was already 20 and eligible for marriage, her intelligence was lower than that of normal people. Now she hadn't finished high school...
Moore told him about those before.
"Grandpa, aren't you trying to defame Christ Family by asking me to marry a retard?"
"Don't you want to know why I ask you to marry that kid?"
Nathan replied coldly, "Not interested."
Old Mr. Christ frowned but didn't lose his temper, "Marry her upon graduation."
Nathan said nothing more.
It was just over a month to go, and he wouldn't mind waiting.
"Grandpa, take care then. I hope you can live to that day."
"Argh..."
Old Mr. Christ shook his head, and there was a tinge of sobs in his hoarse voice, "Do you really hate me so much?"
Nathan's dim eyes froze slightly, "All these years, haven't you been stung by conscience?"
