Chapter 14 No One Will Bully You Anymore

Staring at Mike Johnson's stunning appearance, Grace Wood could not stop her heart from pounding violently.

The man was perfect in her eyes.

The car had left, but the bewitched woman still could not drag herself out of daydreaming.

Back to Mary Miller and Mike. The woman was then an asset for the man.

Mary tilted her head to cast a secretive glance at Mike, who was actually gazing at her with his deep-set eyes.

Mary's face blushed instantly, and she lowered her head.

The man suddenly grabbed one of her hands and said to her in a gentle voice, "Don't be afraid. No one will bully you in the future."

Mary nodded, feeling secure to have her hand warped in the man's warm, dry palm.

Mike did not let go of the woman's hand until they arrived at the villa.

The man poured himself a glass of wine and took a sip, and then said to the woman who was sitting on the sofa. "Be good and live here from today. If you need anything, just tell the servants. I have some business to deal with, so I am going out."

He was the new president of the Johnson Group, and of course, there were lots of affairs waiting for him to handle.

Mike finished drinking the wine and said to the woman, "Wait for me to come back."

Mary nodded and replied obediently, "I will."

The man revealed a smile and left with satisfaction.

"Miss Miller, have a good rest." Hank made a bow to the lady and followed Mike out.

Staring at the departing back of that elegant man, Mary wondered what he meant by asking her to wait for him.

And she actually had given him a positive answer.

"What does he want?"

"What's my use to live here?"

"Does he want me to sleep with him?"

Mary was frightened by the thought.

Mike had said he liked her earlier. Was he serious?

The woman shook her head to get rid of the mess on her mind.

A servant brought her a glass of fresh fruit juice.

"Thank you." Mary took a sip of the drink and found it delicious.

Laying on the sofa, she called Scott Wood to tell him that she was safe and sound and that there was no need for him to hurry back home.

Mary started to live in her uncle's place from the age of ten, and Scott had always been kind to her.

Therefore, there was a real bond between Mary and Scott.

Mary felt relieved that she had gotten rid of Eric Carter, and she thought she had better become independent as quickly as possible.

She had taken her certificates back from the Wood Family, which would qualify her with a decent job.

After graduating from university, she had spent two months working for her uncle's company as an assistant in financial management, and she was quite good at it.

Earlier, she had sent her resume out to several companies.

At noon, she had lunch alone. The villa was quiet.

The dishes prepared by Mike's private chef were quite delicious.

As there was no one around, Mary felt relaxed and decided to have a walk after the meal.

The house was on the bank of a clean river, along which lots of willows with hanging, slender branches were planted.

The woman enjoyed the view.

After the walk, she went back to the villa and dropped asleep on the sofa.

It was getting late, but Mike still did not come back.

Mary began to feel uneasy.

When the clock struck ten, there was still only the woman in the living room.

Mary went to the bedroom assigned to her, which was on the first floor and quite spacious.

As the woman felt secure inside, she fell asleep in no time.

About an hour later, someone entered the room and kissed Mary on her face.

Staring at the woman's smooth, delicate face, Mike realized that he might have fallen in love with her for real.

He wanted to have sex with her.
