Chapter 18 Young Master Mike Is Worried about You
When Mike Johnson got home, he failed to see the pretty figure of Mary Miller.
"What happened? Where is she?"
One maid replied, "Mr. Johnson, Miss Miller told us that she was going to have a walk in the morning and would give you a call. Didn't she let you know?"
Mike picked up his cell phone and suddenly realized that he did not have Mary's number.
Damn! Had she run away once again?
With flames of fury surging up in his eyes, Mike loosened his tie. "Hank, go and find Mary's number for me."
Mary was with Roger Martin at this moment. As it was time to get off work, Mary thought she should leave as well. However, where should she leave for?
The villa on the bank of the North River?
She did not want to be kept as a mistress.
While going downstairs, Roger said to the woman, "Mary, let's have dinner together. I'll drive you home after the meal."
Mary was just about to say something when her cell phone rang. It was from a strange number, and she answered it.
"Hello?"
Mike's mellow, sexy voice came from the other end of the line. "Mary, where are you?"
"Mr. Johnson, I'm... I'm..." The woman was nervous to speak to the man even through the line.
Then the man's dominant voice sounded again, "Tell me where you are. I will pick you up."
Mary obediently told him where she was.
No matter how, the man had given the Wood Family ten million yuan for Mary, which had put her in a disadvantaged position in front of him.
"Roger, I have something else to do, so I'm leaving." Mary then left.
"Okay. Remember to come to work tomorrow."
"I will." Mary swiftly dashed out of the building, leaving for the location that she told Mike on the phone.
It was almost six o'clock, and the sky was getting dark. Right opposite where Mary was standing, there was a huge digital billboard playing an advertisement for EV Jewellery, a brand that was getting more and more popular in town.
Soon, a black Rolls Royce pulled up in front of her. Mary was a little nervous. Would Mike scold her as she ran out without letting him know?
Mike opened the car door and stepped out of the vehicle.
"Mr. Johnson." Mary lowered her head to avoid facing the man, like a child who had made a mistake.
Mike stared at the woman, a somewhat gloomy look in his eyes. Then he took her hand and said, "Get in the car."
After getting in the car, Hank smiled and said, "Miss Miller, please don't come out without telling Mr. Johnson next time. He is worried about you."
"He is worried about me?" Mary thought and cast a secretive glance at Mike.
The man abruptly grabbed Mary and placed her like a doll upon his thighs, whispering in her ear, "I know Maggie had come in the day. She must have said something awful to you. Just ignore her."
Mary was surprised that the man was not reproaching but comforting her.
The masculine vibe the man was giving off blushed the woman's face. She gently pressed his study chest with her hands, but he went against her will and held her even closer.
"If you're coming out next time, call me before you do. You hear me?" There was a trace of hoarseness in his voice, but still, it sounded irresistible.
Mary nodded meekly.
Mike stretched out his hand to rub her hair and landed a kiss upon her cheek, gently and pityingly.
Mary was slightly shocked, thinking, "Does he really like me?"
Mike initially thought that the reason why Mary had come out was that Maggie Jane visited the villa and said those harsh words to her, which made her angry.
Embracing the woman, Mike beamed with joy, and again, he kissed her on the forehead.
Mary's body soon softened all over. She leaned in the man's arms and stroked one button of his suit coat, saying, "I had an interview today."
The man asked with concern, "How is it going?"
