Chapter 18 What was the usage of a dad?

In a cozy apartment.

Kathrine just finished watching her favorite TV show when she turned around and saw Taylor sat there and lost her mind with her legs crossed. And Taylor held the ears of a rabbit doll unconsciously.

Well, Taylor was in that posture half an hour ago.

Katherine held out her hand and pointed her finger at Taylor's head, "Taylor."

"What?" Taylor came to reality immediately and blinked, looking at Katherine blankly.

"What are you thinking?" Katherine raised her brows.

"Nothing, I am watching TV." Taylor tried hard to make herself look unguilty about her lie.

"Watching TV? Do you remember the end of the show?" Katherine asked a question.

"The leading actor and actress get together and live a happy life." Taylor was sure about that.

Was there any play where the leading actor and actress were not together? If the leading actor fell in love with other women, the scriptwriter of that play would be criticized by the audience.

"I am just watching a show about a group of stars experiencing life in a rural area. So, tell me, which two of them get together?"

"Kathy, you should not cheat me and get me there." Taylor pursed her mouth and looked pitiful.

"So, are you going to tell me, what are you thinking?" Katherine squinted and curled her lips, "You dare not look at me. Are you thinking about a man?"

"Of course not!" Taylor goggled her eyes and denied.

"Well, you will touch the mole around your eye whenever you tell a lie." The little girl watched Taylor with a fake smile.

Taylor's finger paused. And she put her hand down and pinched the rabbit's ear.

She was not thinking about a man!

It was that Bastard who occupied her brain and did not leave.

That slender finger, strong legs, well-shaped muscles, and the sweats on the chest--

"You are blushing." Katherine stared at her and became serious.

"I feel a little hot." Taylor denied it unconsciously and tried to get that man out of her brain.

"Taylor." Katherine stared at Taylor's face expressionlessly.

Today, kids were fighting because they were arguing about whose father was the best.

And when Katherine stood aloof, a kid named Ken asked curiously about who her father was.

And he felt upset for her when she told him she did not have a father.

Upset?

Why should she be upset?

It was nice to live with Taylor without a father. And, of course, it would be better if Taylor could be smarter and more mature.

Dad?

What was the usage of a dad? Could he be eaten up?

"Kathy?" Taylor sensed Katherine's emotion, "What's wrong?"

Taylor's heart ached for Katherine when she saw Katherine tighten her lips.

Katherine had been a good girl and caused little trouble since she was born.

When Katherine was a baby, she would always have milk and sleep quietly and stared at Taylor with her blinking big eyes.

When Katherine gained some ages, she would read books quietly on the sofa when Taylor was working. At night, Katherine would wash and go to the bed.

Seldom had Katherine cried or shouted.

As Taylor was pleased with what Katherine had done, she felt sorry for Katherine in the meantime.

Taylor could not provide a whole family for Katherine and gave Katherine a chance to enjoy the love of a father.

Taylor also wished that Katherine could act like a normal girl who could laugh or cry as she wanted and that Katherine was not so sensible that almost made Taylor cry.

"It is me who should ask, Taylor, what are you thinking on earth?" Katherine frowned as she saw an apology in Taylor's eyes.

And Katherine signed as if she had known something, "Taylor, I've already told you that men are born with a different nature. Whatever circumstances I lived in, I can't be a kid who likes sitting on the ground and rolling about. So, don't think too much."

As she said so, she got off from the sofa and walked into her room.

Katherine mumbled as she was walking, "I am calling Simon and asking him to give you more work. You have too much leisure time to think too much."

Looking at Katherine's back, Taylor pursed her mouth while her eyes were smiling.

All right. Although Katherine's words made her speechless, she said the right thing to caress Taylor.

The next day.

Bill walked into his office and saw Leon eating buns in his office desk.

"Mr. Kent," Bill walked forward without changing his expression. Then he turned on the computer and checked the email.

"Bill, aren't you surprised about why I am here?" Leon blinked and ate the rest of the bun. And he leaned forward before he stopped ten centimeters away from Bill.

"What do you want?" Bill did not look at Leon but focused on his work.

"Who is that girl kissed by Daniel yesterday? Any information about her?" Leon laughed and looked at Bill in a way that he wanted to hear gossip.

"Her name is Taylor Wood." Bill raised his hand and adjusted his glasses, "And I don't know more about her."

Leon did not answer but stared at Bill and smiled.

One minute later, Bill finally looked at Leon, "I don't know really. Mr. Brook did not ask me to investigate her."

"Bill, you are not telling the truth." Leon curved the corner of his mouth and put on a bright smile.

He sat straight and got down from the desk. Then he sat in the chair in front of the desk and leaned against the back of the chair, with his legs crossed.

"Bill, I know you are faithful to Daniel. And now she becomes the uncertainty which can influence Daniel greatly. It is impossible for you to not investigate her." Leon tilted his head like a naughty child, "Well, tell me. I promise I will not tell Daniel."

Bill paused his hand. After dozens of seconds, he opened the right drawer, took out a folder, and handed it to Leon.

"Good Boy." Leon winked at him. And he opened that folder and read rapidly.

"Taylor Wood, the only child of the ex-boss of SS Group...Well, she is a loser when fighting with other heirs of her family... did she lose her memory in a car accident? She was lucky and strong enough not to be killed abroad...Happy Summer Jewelry Studio."

Her information only had two pages and Leon finished reading it quickly.

"That's all?" Leon thought her information was little.

"Although she suffered a lot, her experiences are not complex." Bill nodded.

"She is an interesting woman. We will meet again if there is a chance." Leon threw away the document, rose from the chair, and walked towards outside.

"Mr. Kent--"

"Don't worry about it. Mr. Brook will never know." Leon turned back and winked, "Bill, you've cared much about your Mr. Brook's sleep recently. It is a good thing. And it is not that good."

Was this simple life experience real? Or if someone had hidden something?
