Chapter 20 I Don't Want Unreal Thanks

"What?" Taylor got her arm back and looked at Leon with an official smile.

"Don't you thank us when we helped you? Leon blinked, "To be more specific, Daniel helped you."

"Wence put something in your sake." Leon raised his brows, "Should I tell you what he has put? He is an old hand in doing this, and girls like you who are innocent still cannot tell that."

"So, you are old hands also?" Taylor asked sincerely.

Leon did not know how to respond...

Was that what he tried to emphasize.

"Taylor, don't be so naughty." Leon pursed his mouth, "From now on, be careful with things a man handed to you. You'd better not touch it."

As he said so, he held out his hand, "By the way, I am Leon Kent."

Taylor looked at the slender and white hand in front of her and tightened her lips, "Mr. Kent."

Yet she did not intend to shake hands with him.

"Taylor, I know that Daniel is watching us. But I think we can have polite handshaking." Leon winked, "Daniel is not a jealous guy."

"But you told me that I should not touch things a man handed to me." Taylor smiled slightly.

"..." Leon was speechless and retreated his hand.

He thought that he had troubled himself.

Taylor took a deep breath secretly and turned to Daniel who did not say a word, "Thanks."

She had been alert during the whole meal. But she did not anticipate that Wence would put something into the last cup of sake.

Because she saw him pour it for her.

If it were not Daniel who saw his tricks, she would be in trouble if she had drunk that cup of sake.

She was not alert enough.

"I told you. I am a businessman and I don't want your unreal thanks." Daniel looked at her calmly.

Taylor gave a little start at first. Then she covered her mouth with her hand and drew back several steps.

"Haha! Your reaction is so interesting, Taylor!" Leon could not help laughing. And he hit Daniel's shoulder slightly, "Daniel, what's the feeling of being regarded as a playboy?"

Daniel did not look at him anymore. Instead, he stared at Taylor with a peaceful look, "Mr. Oscar wants to see you."

"Mr. Oscar?" Taylor gave a little start, yet she kept being alert.

She remembered that she had left her name card. If Mr. Oscar wanted to see her, why did not he call her directly? And why he told Daniel about that?

"Half an hour ago we stepped out of Mr. Oscar's house and he mentioned it. Now we tell you since we met you here." Leon explained with a smile, "Taylor, can you be more alert in front of us? Just relax."

Taylor was a little bit sorry for that...

Did not Leon understand the creed that one should not uncover the others easily?

"Then I am leaving now." she touched her nose, nodded her head to greet them, and left without looking back.

"Daniel, why you are not attractive to her?" Leon put his arms on Daniel's shoulder, clucked, and asked out of curiosity, "Don't you want Jack to talk with her? After all, it is not an easy thing to find a medicine that can cure your headache while having no side effects."

On hearing this, Daniel turned to Leon and stared at him.

Leon pursed his mouth and moved his hand before his mouth as if he was zipping his mouth up, "I know. I will neither say it with her nor do this behind you. I will leave you to handle the matter by yourself. After all--"

He did not finish his sentence.

After all, nobody would know if there was any side effect.

Taylor saw Mr. Oscar this time in the small garden which was in the innermost part of the Chinese style yard.

Her tears formed up when she saw the white roses covering the whole wall.

There used to be such a wall in her home. And her dad planted and cared for those roses by himself.

Dad was busy. Yet he refused others' help when it came to the rose wall.

It was because her mother loved white rose.

And that rose wall was the reminder of their love.

"Is it beautiful?" Bruce's smiling sound came behind her.

Taylor calmed down, turned back, and nodded with a shallow smile, "Yes."

"White roses are the favorite of the woman I love." Bruce took the white gloves and scissors from the housekeeper and handed them to her, "Are you interested in cutting some roses with me?"

"My pleasure." Taylor took them with a smile while she put the white gloves on the table.

Seeing what she had done, Bruce smiled more brightly.

Doris, you had nurtured your daughter well. She was a sincere and kind girl.

I appreciated her so much.

"What flower do you like?" Bruce moved forward, squatted down near the roses, cut one carefully, and put it in the basket nearby.

"Baby's breath." Taylor also picked blooming one and cut it down while avoiding touching its petals.

"I like your sincerity. You are not lying to flatter me." Bruce beamed and looked at her.

"How dare I lie in front of you. Mr. Oscar, you are the best appraiser all over the world. And you are professional in recognizing lies."

Taylor was relaxed surrounded by flowers in the yard.

"Mr. Oscar," a servant came up and waited with respect outside the door, "There is a guest."

"Who?"

"Abby Wood from SS Jewellery."

"I am not seeing her." Bruce did not raise his head, "I have a very important guest now."

"Yes." The servant turned and left to send the message.

After thinking for a while, Bruce looked at the housekeeper who was standing nearby, "Go and tell Abby that I have made up my mind to join Happy Summer Jewelry Studio. And that I will not change my mind. She should not come here again."

"Yes." The housekeeper smiled at Taylor and left then.

"What do you want to know?" Bruce kept lowering his head and picked roses.

"Why did you choose us, Mr. Oscar? Happy Summer Jewelry Studio is not a renowned one." Taylor asked frankly.

"Because opal is the favorite of the woman I loved." Bruce's expression turned to be tender as if he thought about something, "Although diamonds are rare, they share similar looks. And it is dull to be similar. Yet every opal is unique and has its beauty."

"So, I benefit from her words." Taylor winked naughtily.

"No." Bruce looked at her, "It means that we share the same perspective and have the same goal in some things. Well, do you know flower arrangements?"

"A little."

"All right, please help me with the vase in the living room later." Bruce burst into laughter.
