Contemporary Romance>So into CEO Daddy>Chapter 23 Returned to the Wood's Villa
Chapter 23 Returned to the Wood's Villa
Wood's Villa.
Taylor stood outside the villa. Looking at the roses which wound on the iron gate, she couldn't help but raise her hand and touch them.
When Mommy and Daddy died in the plane crash, the first thing Abby's family did was to happily move into this villa that they had coveted for a long time.
Then they rushed to the company without a single halt. Taking out a will which they claimed that Daddy had written before, they inherited all the shares of her daddy and mommy.
During these six years, she wondered whether they had ever met her daddy and mommy in the middle of the night. If they met them, how could they explain their rapacity to them?
"Lady Taylor." A man in his fifties trotted to the door. His eyes filled with surprise. "Great, you finally come back."
It could be told from his eyes that he was trying her.
Taylor knew him, Scott Lake. Daddy hired him to take care of Grandpa, but now he became Bob's butler.
"Hello, may I ask who you are?" Her eyes were blank and innocent. She smiled faintly.
Who didn't know how to act?
"Lady Taylor, you really don't remember me? You can call me Scott like Lady Abby. Please come in. Master and Madam have been waiting for you for a long time." While smiling brightly, Scott opened the iron door and made a gesture of invitation.
"Thank you, Scott." Taylor smiled quietly and walked towards the main building. "The roses on the door are pretty, but the leaves of a rose were up. I feel prickly when I touch them."
"Did they prick your hands? I'm sorry, it's my oversight. I'll ask someone to fix it immediately." Scott looked back at the iron gate. A hint of relief flickered in his eyes.
When she stretched out her hand to touch the roses, he thought she had already remembered something. It turned out that she just saw a warped iron wire.
The decoration of the living room was magnificent. A huge crystal chandelier, famous paintings on the wall, rosewood sofa and tea table, all of them manifested the owner's wealth.
Taylor looked around. Her almond eyes were clear and calm, but she sneered in her heart.
The decoration was keeping with Bob's style that he was trying to satisfy his vanity when he couldn't really afford to do so.
Oh, he became a rich man now.
Although, there was the blood of her daddy and mommy on the money.
"Taylor, you're finally back." Wearing a high-fashion cheongsam and a fur shawl, a lady came over quickly and hugged her hard. She said with sobs. "Baby, do you know how much Bob and I miss you? Do you know how worried we were about you? You are too capricious. How could you elope abroad with a man? How could you cut off all contact with us? If Abby didn't run into you, we would have continued to arrange people to find you abroad."
Then, she stood up straight and looked at her with favour and love, as if she couldn't get enough of seeing her. "I'm glad you're back. Taylor, don't worry. I'll love you as if you were my daughter. I'll never let anyone bully you again. My good Taylor."
She stretched out her right hand, which wore a ruby ring and caressed Taylor's cheek very gently.
Taylor suppressed nausea in her heart and raised a smile. "I'm sorry to make you worry."
Her smile was a little distant.
So, after she went abroad, the reason that they made up about her leaving was to elope with a man.
"According to Abby, you don't remember us? Is that true?" Sophie frowned and looked at her.
"I'm sorry, Sophie." Taylor pursed her lips.
"What happened? When you said you wanted to be with that bastard, we all disagreed. We thought we could keep you at home so that you two would be out of touch. Unexpectedly, you were so stubborn that you jumped from the building and eloped with him. You even went abroad directly. It looks like that bastard didn't take good care of you. He has put you through a lot." Sophie heaved a sigh, took her hand, and patted the back of her hand. "Drop it. It's a good thing that you forgot about that. We won't mention it again. It's good to have you back."
"Taylor." A mellow male voice came from the study.
Taylor raised her head. Seeing Bob coming over with a gentle smile, she deliberately turned her head to look at Sophie.
"Taylor, this is your Uncle Bob." Sophie was satisfied with her reaction and introduced them with a bright smile.
"Bob." Taylor greeted Bob obediently.
"It's good to have you back." Bob nodded and turned to Scott, who stood nearby. "Tell the cook to start dinner within half an hour."
Taylor smiled overcautiously and looked towards the stairs. "Where's Abby? She hasn't come back yet?"
"I went to look for something." Abby's gentle voice sounded behind her.
She walked forward slowly and handed a box to Taylor. "I knew you were coming, so I specially went to the warehouse to get it. You went abroad secretly. Mommy packed up uncle and aunt's relics and put most of them in their tomb. The rest was put in the warehouse. She intended to give them to you when you came back. You can keep them as a souvenir."
"Thank you." Taylor bit her lips, took the box, and opened it.
In the box, there were all kinds of birthday gifts that Daddy gave to Mommy before.
But, there was a diamond ring rather than a ruby ring.
Her expression was a little startled and sad.
"This is the wedding ring of uncle and aunt, which uncle personally designed it." Abby took up the diamond ring. Her voice was full of sadness. "Unexpectedly, the thing was still here, but they were gone."
"All right, don't say these sad words." Sophie smiled and stepped forward. "It's good to have Taylor back."
Holding Taylor's hand, she led her towards the sofa.
Taylor followed her obediently and glanced over the ruby ring on her ring finger. A hint of coldness flickered in her almond eyes.
"Taylor, according to Abby, you're working at Happy Summer Jewelry Studio?" Bob sat on the double sofa and asked with a bright smile.
"Yes, it's a newly established studio." Taylor sat rigidly upright and answered quietly.
"Don't be so reserved at home." Sophie patted her hand. "You'd better work at our company and move back home as well. Bob and I can take care of you."
"I still want to practice in the studio first. If I can't do anything, it's not good to work in the company." Taylor smiled faintly and refused her invitation.
"Fine. Just tell Bob if you want to come back." Sophie said while nodding her head.
Seeing the regret in her eyes, Taylor sneered in her heart.
If she nodded and agreed with what she said, she would have known the feeling of hurting herself by her own doing.
"By the way, I heard from Abby that your studio has hired Bruce?" Bob took up a cup of tea, which was handed by the butler. After taking a sip of tea, he continued to say. "You've just started a studio. Bruce will waste his talent on trivial tasks. How about asking him to work in SS Group? I'll send a highly qualified appraiser from the company to help you. He will work for you but you don't need to pay his salary. He'll still get paid from SS Group."
