Chapter 24 Made up Stories
Bob's tone was natural and right. While hearing his words, Taylor couldn't help but sneer in her heart.
Her uncle hadn't changed at all. If he wanted something, he just asked for it. He also wore on his face a look like saying it would be your honour if she wanted it.
She remembered that he came to the house and said to daddy eight years ago. "I think the president work easily and get good pay. Let me be the president. Head of Administration isn't suitable for me." When he said these words, he had the same impudent and shameless look like today!
"Bob. My boss is personally responsible for the company's recruitment. I'm just an assistant. I can't make any decisions." She smiled sweetly. There were some apologies in her eyes.
"Isn't your boss courting you? Just tell him." Bob waved his hand casually. "If he doesn't listen to this, how could he be my niece's husband?"
"Court? He doesn't." Taylor blinked blankly and explained in a bit of a panic. "Bob, you misunderstand us."
"I'm sure there's no misunderstanding." Sitting next to Sophie, Abby said. "I wanted to talk to you last time. Your boss looked at me with vigilance as if he was afraid that I would eat you up. Why he acted like that if he doesn't like you?"
She covered her mouth and giggled. "Taylor, you don't need to be shy in front of us."
"Abby, you misunderstand. He really doesn't go after me." Taylor shook her head with a serious expression on her face.
"Okay, okay. We misunderstand." Bob smiled carelessly. "Then it's settled. I'll go to Bruce's house and tell him this in person. Don't worry about it. The appraiser will go to your studio and assist you next Monday."
"Oh." Taylor didn't say anything else. She pursed her lips and responded.
"Taylor, you'll return to SS Group sooner or later. So, everything you do, you should do it for the good of SS Group. Do you know it? We're family." Bob was satisfied with her reaction and continued to lecture her.
"I know it, Bob." Taylor continued to nod.
"Okay, stop talking about these work things. Let's have the diner." Sophie held the hand of Taylor and walked towards the kitchen with a smile. "I ask the cook to make all the food that you used to love. I don't know whether your preferences have changed or not."
"Thank you, Sophie," Taylor said with a smile.
During the meal, Sophie had been talking about past things with Taylor.
Sophie said that Taylor was mischievous when she was little. She always liked to snatch Abby's things. When Charles and Doris left, SS Group had already experienced the operational difficulties and financial crisis. Bob worked very hard to save the situation. After Taylor eloped with a man, they felt very anxious and spent a lot of money to employ people to look for her all over the world. However, there was no news at all.
Listening to her words, Taylor couldn't help but feel a little curious in her heart.
If she asked Sophie to say the story again next time, how much it would differ from the story, which she made up today?
After all, she made up the story, which wasn't impressive. It was easy for her to forget it.
Taylor swore that this meal had lasted the longest since six years ago.
The seconds she spent were like years. The meal was tasteless for her.
After an hour, the diner was finally over.
"Taylor, you haven't visited your daddy or mommy since you were back, have you?" Sophie suddenly asked in a sad voice.
Taylor was stunned, then shook her head woodenly. Her voice was full of sadness and apologies. "I, I, I don't remember them–"
"Poor kid, she forgets where the tomb of her Mommy and Daddy is." Sophie heaved a sigh and looked at Scott, who was at the door. "Scott, make some arrangements. I'll take Taylor to the cemetery."
Then, turning her head, she looked at Taylor concernedly and said gently. "I'll take you to the cemetery. Now you are back. You should also tell Daddy and Mommy so that they can be at ease."
"Okay." Taylor bit her lower lip slightly. Her eyes filled with tears.
"You accompany Taylor well. Don't let her get too sad. Taylor, I still have something to deal with in the company." Bob paused.
"Bob, you're busy. Just do your things. I'll go there with Sophie," Taylor said obediently.
"Okay, good girl. We'll go there together next time." Bob nodded. After giving a wink to Sophie, he turned around and walked towards the study.
"Taylor, I can't go there either. When I did rock climbing with Daniel during the day, I accidentally sprained my foot. I'm sorry." While crossing her legs, Abby sat on the sofa with a smile.
"Sprained? Is it serious?" Taylor frowned.
"It's fine. Daniel took me to the hospital immediately. I'll just apply some ointment on my foot for a few days." Abby titled her head to one side and smiled sweetly.
"Let's go." Seeing the car park at the door, Sophie said.
"Okay." Taylor nodded and followed her towards the outside.
She glanced over a tattered glass tank on the right side of the iron gate and withdrew her eyes quickly.
Looking at her unchanged expression, Sophie smiled smugly.
After the black Audi left the villa, Abby stood by the door. Watching the taillights recede, she smiled very coldly.
"Daddy, do you think she has really lost her memory?" She said in a cold voice.
"According to her today's reaction, it should be true." Without Abby's noticing, Bob approached her. Comparing to Abby, he had a more indifferent look on his face.
"I wish she pretended to lose her memory." The corners of Abby's mouth curved up. "She'll receive a big gift in a few days, which I prepared for her. If she fakes the memory loss, it'll be fun."
She withdrew her eyes and looked at the glass tank near the iron gate. "Scott, throw the glass tank to the garbage disposal station."
It was a three-dimensional miniature of "The Riverside Scene at Qingming Festival" that was made by Charles for Doris. In order to sound Taylor, she found it in the warehouse and deliberately put it there one and a half hours ago.
"The crystals in there?"
"Throw them together. They are worthless. It makes me sick to look at it." Abby sneered. "I'm so happy to ruin the things that Taylor regards as treasures."
"What's wrong with your foot?" Bob gazed at her feet.
"Didn't I just say that? I went rock climbing with Daniel and accidentally sprained my foot." There were some tender looks on Abby's face when she mentioned Daniel.
"Ask him to come over for dinner another day." Bob smiled with satisfaction.
"He's so busy. He doesn't have time to come over for dinner." Abby rolled her eyes.
"No matter how busy he is, the son-in-law should have dinner with his parents-in-law." Bob stretched out his hand and poked her forehead. "During the dinner, we'll discuss your wedding day."
Wedding day...
These two words sounded great.
Abby couldn't help but curve up the corners of her mouth. Her smile was pretty. She replied sweetly: "Got it, daddy."
