Chapter 7 A Pitiful Girl

Dorothy was speechless. Of course she knew Zack, the only child in the family, was more important than her, a daughter-in-law who was an outsider.

"Anyway, I warn you," Zack said grimly, "As long as you are obedient, I won't hurt your father, and he can still enjoy his life there. Also, I will also transfer money into his card every month."

Dorothy stopped talking. She felt that as long as he treated her father well, it wouldn't matter if she had to suffer a bit.

He just wanted to hide the fact that they were married? Fine, she could keep it a secret.

Zack carried Dorothy back to his home in City B. After honking the car, a middle-aged woman came and opened the door.

The woman was Mrs. Hunter and she was the nanny hired by Zack.

Mrs. Hunter opened the door. Zack drove the car into the garage and stopped but did not get out of the car for a while.

Mrs. Hunter walked over and saw Zack coming out with a cold face and a gloomy expression.

Zack turned around and kicked the rear door, "Get off!"

Mrs. Hunter looked at the car and asked Zack, "There are still people in the car?"

Zack said, "Um".

After a while, the person in the car did not come out. Mrs. Hunter didn't know who was in the car.

Suddenly, Zack got angry and rushed over angrily. He wrenched the car door, "Why don't you get off the car?"

The person in the car suddenly fell into Zack's arms.

"What are you doing?" Zack pushed her away angrily. The person in his arms was pushed to the side of the car and finally stood firmly. Until then, Mrs. Hunter saw it clearly that this was a girl.

From Mrs. Hunter's perspective, the girl was very young, like she was seventeen or eight years old. Her thin yellow hair was tied as a ponytail behind her head, her face was beautiful, and her skin was a bit yellow. Her body was thin, as if she was malnourished, which made people feel distressed even if they just took a look at her.

Zack stared at her angrily, "I told you to get off the car. Don't you have ears?"

Dorothy looked at him and said, "I pushed the door, but the door didn't open..."

She kept pushing the door hard, and then Zack suddenly pulled the door open, so she fell into his arms.

"You!" Zack was almost dizzy, "You can't even open the door?"

Dorothy blushed and said, "I have never taken in this kind of car..."

"What?" Zack widened his eyes, "Haven't you ever taken a vehicle before?"

Dorothy shook her head, "No, I haven't taken such a small one before. Everyone in my place takes buses..."

When Hogan took her and her father in the city that day, they did take a car. But there were people dealing with the door thing for her, so she didn't open the door by herself before.

Mrs. Hunter kind of liked her to see her so simple, so she asked, "Girl, what's your name?"

She replied, "My name is Dorothy Field. I have a nickname called Dottie. Auntie, you can call me Dottie. People in my place call me that."

"Oh, Dottie," Mrs. Hunter laughed, "Girls in the countryside are likely to be called like that. I have a girl having a similar name."

"Really?" Dorothy asked hurriedly, "How old is she?"

Zack glared at her impatiently, "Why are you talking about so much nonsense? Don't you know what you are here for?"

Dorothy glanced at him and replied, "I know."

"You better know!" Zack looked at her impatiently, "You stand here and don't move."

He said to Mrs. Hunter, "Mrs. Hunter, please come over. I have something to tell you."

Mrs. Hunter walked upstairs with Zack, and Zack said, "Mrs. Hunter, I'm sorry, I can't keep you here anymore."

Mrs. Hunter asked, "Is it because of Dottie?"

Zack nodded and sighed, "She is a distant relative in my mother's hometown. We've never contacted each other before. But she suddenly came to our house some time ago and said that she had no family anymore."

"My mother felt sorry for her, so she insisted that I should bring her over to take care of me. But as you have seen, she is so stupid and can't even open the car door. What can I expect from her? My father has a bad temper, so I have to take her here..."

In order to conceal Dorothy's identity, Zack had to lie to Mrs. Hunter.

Mrs. Hunter nodded, "I know that you should listen to your parents as a son. This girl is also pitiful. Just take her with you. Consider it that you are doing something good for your mother."

"I wanted to tell you a few days ago that my daughter-in-law is about to give birth, so I have to go home to take care of my grandson. I was supposed to ask you to find someone else, but you happen to bring Dorothy here. It doesn't matter if she can't do anything. I can teach her in the following days. When I first came here, I didn't know what to do as well. Don't worry, I won't leave until she's capable to take care of you!"

Zack said gratefully, "Mrs. Hunter, thank you so much!"

"Don't be. I will tell Oliver about this!"

Mrs. Hunter was introduced by Zack's good friend Oliver Reed. She used to take care of Oliver's mother. After Oliver's mother passed away, Oliver didn't need her there to take care of him since he was very busy outside.

It happened that Zack bought a house and wanted someone to guard it, so Oliver introduced Mrs. Hunter to him.

When Zack was at home, Mrs. Hunter helped him cook and wash his clothes. And when he went out to do business, Mrs. Hunter took care of the house.
