Chapter 18 I Didn't Mean That!
Meg's cheeks were flushed, the look in her eyes was inviting, and she limply attached her body to the man as if she had no bones.
She utterly ignored Abigail, the wife of the man.
Abigail cast an emotionless glance at the man and the woman, and then she walked towards the door with the suitcase.
George actually had not expected her to be here. With a gloomy expression on his face, he asked, "What are you doing here?"
He pulled his arm out of Meg's hand.
Abigail paused her pace, looked at the man expressionlessly, and replied in a light voice, "I'm taking my stuff away. No worries. I will get lost right away and won't disturb you guys."
Her indifferent attitude somehow annoyed George. Thinking of what had happened last night in the company, the man furrowed his brows tightly and said in a hard voice, "You'll live here from today."
Abigail was startled.
The man added in an irresistible tone, "Grandpa is leaving for a trip. What if anything horrible happens to you again? I don't want to end up in trouble."
A trace of jealousy flashed across Meg's eyes. Just as she was thinking about how to disturb the development of the situation, Abigail replied to the man with a standoffish expression on her face, "Nothing like that will happen to me as long as you're willing to leave me alone."
With that, she gripped her suitcase and continued to walk outwards.
George abruptly grabbed Abigail by the wrist. As she tried to get rid of the man's grip, Meg suddenly lifted her hand.
As George gripped her arm, Abigail could not dodge the attack and got slapped in the face by Meg.
Instantly, her eye sockets were filled with tears, and her left cheek became burning hot with five clear fingerprints on it.
At this moment, the flow of time seemed to pause.
Abigail's chest rose and fell sharply.
Meg mocked Abigail in a light tone of voice, "Stop glaring at me. You deserve this slap, bitch! What else can you do but seducing men and coquetting?"
"I can defend myself when someone wants to bully me!"
Before Meg knew it, she had been slapped in the face twice.
Ever since Abigail had left the Grey Family, she had told herself that no one would ever bully her again!
She did not owe the Grey Family anything anymore!
Meg had misjudged the situation if she thought that she could still behave like a princess in front of Abigail.
George was completely startled by Abigail's behavior, the look in his eyes complex.
With flames of fury surging up in her eyes, Abigail said to George, "I used to think you were cold and heartless to me because you hated me. Today, I've seen your true colors. You're a complete asshole. How many times are you going to help her slap me before you're happy?"
"I didn't mean that." George's fingers loosened, the look in his eyes turning cold.
He witnessed Meg slap Abigail in the face but did not let go of the latter. If he was not an accomplice, then what was he?
Withdrawing her arm, Abigail stared at the man, and the look in her eyes was colder than ever. Involuntarily, George clenched his hands into fists.
Soon, Abigail calmed herself down. "You two have fun."
Though the fingerprints on her cheek reminded her of the insult, Abigail looked at George and Meg with pride and contempt in her eyes, and then she tossed the apartment key at her feet.
Abigail did not look back, walking away with a swift step.
George stared at her departing back, and a layer of ice covered his eyes.
After chasing Abigail away, Meg managed to conceal the excitement in her eyes, put on a pitiful expression, covered her face, and said, "George, my face hurts."
She cried and slid into the man's arms, but he pushed her away.
"You said on the phone that you have something important to tell me. Go ahead then." George's voice was icy.
Meg froze for a second, her back chilling, and replied apprehensively, "It's actually not that important. Well...that..."
George was wearing a gloomy expression.
