Chapter 13 You Can't Expect Those Who in Love with Common Sense

As soon as she got downstairs, Grayson Roger had run to her, "Mommy!"

The little guy hadn't seen his mommy all day, and it was like he'd been apart from her for ages. He clung to her like malt and took Jenny's hand to their seats.

Sean was already seated, and there were two empty chairs at the table. The little guy sat in the chair across from Sean, leaving the one next to him empty.

Jenny hesitated for a moment, but she felt as if it would be more uncomfortable to deliberately sit farther away from him. She had to pretend she didn't care and sat down next to him.

Sean was filling his bowl with the soup, but he was always peeping at her. As she sat down, his eyes flickered, and a subtle tenderness appeared in his eyes.

Jenny didn't dare look at him and bowed her head to have dinner.

That was when a chicken wing was placed in her bowl. Grayson's eyes shone brightly, "Mommy, you're so skinny. You need to eat more!"

What a good boy!

Jenny smiled brightly. She took some fish maw, purposely weeded out the spines, and put it in the little guy's bowl, "You should have more too. Have more to grow taller!"

The little guy grinned, "OK, I need to grow up fast so that I can protect Mommy!"

Once upon a time, even his dad had very little time to have dinner with him at home. Now he had a mommy and the family were having dinner together, so the little guy couldn't be happier.

Jenny stroked his little head and looked up to find Sean was looking at her too.

After a moment's hesitation, she also took a piece of fish with her chopsticks, weeded out the spines, and put it in Sean's bowl. She said cautiously, "Well...thank you for helping me obtain the dossier."

Sean responded in a low voice, "Well," He then said, "You're welcome. Since I'm going to marry you, I should pay attention to your reputation. I don't want what happened to your father to affect the Roger family's reputation."

Jenny said hurriedly, "My father...must have been wrongly accused. He couldn't have done something like that!"

Sean didn't say anything either. It took a few seconds before he asked calmly, "If you request me to..."

"No, no, no. I didn't mean it. I appreciate that you'd brought me the file. I'm a lawyer, and I'll figure it out myself. I won't cause you any trouble."

Sean was going to say, "I can help you too." But he didn't get the chance to say it.

Well, this woman...

Was it necessary to be so stubborn?

But of course, the woman he chose must be capable of that.

He didn't say anything and just nodded, "OK. I trust you."

"I trust you".

Jenny thought about those few words for a long time. She suddenly felt that this man was actually...not that annoying.

But it was unfortunate that it wasn't her who had met him first, but Tracy Lane.

If he hadn't been related to Tracy Lane, she might have fallen in love with this man.

Donny, who had been peering out the door, gently pulled Eason's sleeve.

Eason got a little angry, "Why are you pulling me!"

Donny put his finger up to his mouth, "Shush, look at Mr. Roger. Do you think Mr. Roger isn't quite right?"

Eason kept staring at Sean's face and whispered, "...something seems wrong. I think Mr. Roger looks better today..."

He flicked his hand over his bangs on his forehead, "I used to think Mr. Roger was just a little bit more handsome than me, but today he seems... a lot more handsome..."

"Fuck you, narcissist!"

Sean slowly put the fish that Jenny had given him into his mouth, chewed a few times, and swallowed it.

Donny opened his mouth widely, "Eason, I remember when Mr. Roger went to a dinner party, he wanted to test all the foods on the table to make sure there was no poison in them. Today he actually ate the food he was given. The sun came out of the west!"

Eason also widened his eyes at that, and was instantly going to stop him.

Donny gave him a sidelong glance and yanked him back, "Are you stupid? Mr. Roger is...in love!"

Eason froze and scratched the back of his head, "But... shouldn't Mr. Roger marry a gentle and virtuous girl to take care of him? Now here comes a workaholic. I think she's more of a workaholic than Mr. Roger, and in the future maybe Mr. Roger will have to look after her..."

Donny banged him on the head, "Bah, you don't know anything! You can't expect those who are in love with common sense! Just because Madam is also a workaholic, although Mr. Roger forgets to have dinner, he must remember that Madam is hungry. In this way, he will definitely come home early to have dinner every day from now on!"

Grayson was gulping with a few grains of rice on the corner of his lips. He had some food and then suddenly looked up, "Dad, you used to never come home for dinner. Now that I have Mommy, can you come back every day and have dinner with us?"

Jenny suddenly felt a twinge of sadness. Although the boy had been living in an extravagant life and Sean could give him the best of everything in the world, the simplest companionship was something he could never hope to achieve.

Sean's hand paused when he took his food. It was a long time before he answered softly, "OK."

The little guy jumped for joy, "Wow, my dad said yes. Great!"

Eason was also excited and squeezed Donny's arm so hard that Donny cried out in pain, "What the fuck? Why are you squeezing me? Who do you think you are? Do you think you're a baby? There's something wrong with you!"

Eason had a dull character with low emotional intelligence, but he had a high level of force and an unbelievable strength. Donny dreaded to fight with him.

The three people having dinner heard it and looked up at them.

Donny waved his hand in a row, "Well...I'm fine. I accidentally broke my foot. I... I'll go outside and see if the gate is locked."

Eason froze for a minute, "I'll go too..."

These two men left like running rabbits.
