Chapter 12 Lovely and Peaceful

Sean Roger indeed had made an effort for his son and had set up places in the company for his son to play in. Throughout the top floor of Roger Mansion, the rest of the rooms were basically gaming rooms and lounges for children to entertain except for his office.

Jenny Lane went to see Shirley Dowson, who was watching cartoons with the kid in the video room next door.

When he saw Jenny, the little guy rushed over to her, "Mommy!"

Jenny got a little mad at him and seemed a bit angry, "Why did you run into the parlor on your own?"

The little guy's eyes widened, "Mommy! You promised you'd be my mommy. You said you wouldn't lie to me. You're not going to go back on your word and you like my dad, right? My dad is really good. And I promise I won't let my dad look at any other women even once!"

The little guy was very excited, and his little chest was rising and falling.

Jenny was speechless and touched his little head, "OK. I mean, you should have gone downstairs by yourself. There were so many strangers there. It was chaotic and not safe!"

The little guy was stunned. He knew she had forgiven him and immediately beamed, "I knew it. Mommy wouldn't blame me! It's OK. In my dad's territory, anyone who dares offend me will definitely be punished by him!"

Jenny suddenly remembered that when she had just watched the kid run into the parlor by himself, and she was very anxious, so it was too soon to say anything else.

But Sean Roger...

He seemed anxious too, but why didn't he warn her?

And why did Sean Roger brought out that expensive ring when this little guy screamed for a proposal?

Obviously, he had prepared for this!

Jenny suddenly felt like she had fallen into a trap.

And, she was tricked by this man and this child, who cooperated to play the show!

She said to herself, "Jenny Lane, what the hell was going on these days? How come you had lost your IQ!"

Seeing that Jenny was absent-minded, Shirley apologized, "I'm sorry, Miss. It's all my fault. I didn't take good care of the kid..."

Jenny shook her head gently, "I don't blame you. You may not think too much."

It was that man and his son's fault!

Jenny followed Donny White back to the Roger villa and then let Shirley go home first.

Back at the house, the babysitter of the Roger family came over to take care of the kid. Once Jenny arrived home, she eagerly asked Donny, "Where's the dossier?"

Donny led her to Sean's study and pointed to a thick bag of papers on the desk, "Madam, here's what you want."

Donny thought about it and added, "There is only one copy of the file. Be careful when you read it, madam, or it will be difficult for me to deal with it."

"I see."

Jenny nodded her head, hurriedly opened it, and found that it was the original.

She thought the copy would be brought to her. Unexpectedly, what Sean brought over was the original!

Donny watched her read each page carefully and knew she didn't need him. So, he went out first.

The original files of a case could be very important information for a lawyer.

Jenny sat down in the study and studied that file carefully. She took paper and pencil and carefully analyzed each item. She wanted to find where there might be a bug or a miscarriage.

Before she knew it, the day was over. The sun was setting, and it was almost dark.

Then there were footsteps outside, and Sean Roger had walked in. Donny and Eason both stood up straight in unison, "Mr. Roger."

Sean Roger nodded softly, "Well."

Donny leaned in front of him and whispered, "Madam is in the study..."

Sean looked at him and didn't say anything.

Donny added, "She hasn't been out all day."

Sean stopped, and Donny whispered to him, "Madam hasn't had dinner yet..."

Sean snorted, "You're so smart!"

Donny cringed and hid behind Eason.

Sean took a few steps forward. He had already gone through the door of the study, but he stopped and returned to the study.

The door was unlocked and there was no sound inside. Sean pushed open the door to the study.

There were volumes strewn on the desk, and there was also Jenny's manuscript with dense notes on it. And she was asleep on the desk.

She was serene in her sleep, without the sharpness when she was awake. Her eyelashes were thick and slender, casting little fan shadows on her face like the wings of a butterfly. Her eyelashes were trembling softly with her breath, inexplicably touching his heart.

Her long hair was loose. There was a strand of hair sliding down on her cheek.

At that moment, all he could think of were three words: silent and peaceful.

Sean walked over to the desk and stood in front of it. He slowly reached out his hand and tried to lift that strand of hair behind her ear.

Jenny, however, seemed to have sensed his gaze and slowly opened her eyes.

Sean's hand stopped in mid-air. He hesitated and stiffly took his hand back.

He was going to ask her if she was tired after reading the papers all day, but all he said was, "Dinner seems to be ready. Let's go downstairs and have dinner."

Jenny stretched herself, "OK."
