Chapter 18 Give You Some Compensation

According to the way Tracy Lane talked, she sounded so proud of herself as if she and her mother had started the company.

Jenny remembered clearly that when Hedy came to the company, the Bliss Group had already been listed. In the last few years, her father had been very busy, leaving early in the morning and returning home late at night.

After Hedy married Jenny's father, she worked at the company every day as an idle worker. She always went shopping, went to the beauty salons, flew to F country to buy clothes, and to K country to do plastic surgeries. How much could she contribute to the company's business?

Jenny followed her into the company. Although the curtains and everything had been replaced with new ones and the couch had been replaced, looking at the familiar layout, Jenny felt that the general layout and decor were still the same as before.

However, now her dad wasn't here.

Tracy was still making noise, "My mom's been working in the company for over a decade, and she knows everyone in the company. A lot of the stars have been made by her..."

Jenny snorted and asked, "Your mother was the Director of Administration and HR before she became General Manager, right?"

Tracy didn't know what Jenny wanted to say next, "Yeah! She's worked from the ground up by herself..."

Jenny said indifferently, "It makes no difference anyway. I know she can't be able to be CFO, who should be professional, so she could only be an executive HR & Administration director because she has no professional knowledge at all. In this way, she can manage the company's staff, making it easier to let her cronies work in the company."

Tracy Lane was again at a loss for words as she retorted, so she had to pretend not to care, "Jenny Lane, that's all you can say. But it is of no use!"

She tossed her hair enchantingly and took out a small mirror to reapply her lipstick, "Look. Such an imposing building, such a big company. And you can't get anything right now, so it's normal to think it is unfair. It's OK. I understand."

She might not know that Jenny already had forty-five percent of the shares of the company.

However, Jenny wasn't quite sure yet how many shares the mother and daughter had. If it was less than fifty percent, she only needed to get six more percent to become the largest shareholder and oust Hedy from power.

She would just give them a few more days to be cocky!

Sooner or later, she was going to come into the Bliss Group under a different identity and hold it all in her hands!

Jenny passed the various office doors of the company with her head high. Many of the employees in the office were pretending to work or pretending to pour water or something, and they were actually surreptitiously looking at her up and down.

Some of the old employees of the company still recognized Jenny. However, there were still more employees who were on Hedy's side at the moment.

She was Mason Lane's daughter after all. So, when Jenny looked at them, they immediately withdrew their gazes.

But Jenny could still hear their whispers.

"That's Mr. Lane's ex-wife's daughter, and now she is in the company. I don't know what ulterior motive she has..."

"Right. Mr. Lane himself did something wrong. He is so inhumane and burned the body... Gee, I can't imagine..."

"I was freaking out when I saw the news. Luckily, he didn't do anything to us. With a psycho boss like that, how scary it is!"

"That's right. Mrs. Lane is gentle and generous..."

Jenny didn't have anything to say.

She recognized that one of them was the backbone of the company, very much appreciated by her dad before.

These people were all on the fence. Her dad treated them well. It was only after a short time, and they already betrayed him.

As Jenny walked over, she also heard someone scolding her indirectly, "She's still pretending to be innocent, but she's fawning on the rich and powerful. Why doesn't she think about whether she's worthy?"

Jenny didn't say a word and passed by in front of everyone calmly.

She'd come today just to meet with all the employees so that everyone could see that she, Jenny Lane, was back.

Walking through the office door and then going up the stairs, she quickly made her way to Hedy's office.

It wasn't actually her office, but Mr. Lane's. But now, Hedy was sitting in it.

Tracy pushed the door open, and Hedy was inside trying on clothes in the mirror. She saw her and greeted, "Tracy, you try it on too. It's a new seasonal outfit shipped over by Air from F country. You pick out a few too..."

Jenny followed in silently, looking indifferently at the woman who was in her office but was still busy with her daily beauty and shopping.

Hedy saw her so she took off the clothes she was trying on and sat back in her chair, showing an ironic smile, "Hi, Jenny! What brings you over here?"

As the general manager, she was still graceful enough to show Jenny superficial courtesy in the company.

Jenny said indifferently, "Nothing. I came over to check on the company for my dad."

Hedy's face became a bit pale, "Your dad did something he shouldn't have done, and he needs to suffer the consequences. He deserves that. What do you mean by your dad's company? Has all our hard work been wiped out?"

She scoffed, "Don't think that you can fool me because you've majored in law. I've already consulted a lawyer, and your last statement about making a will without giving me a penny is impossible! We're married, and your father has no right to dispose of community property without permission. He's still alive. It should be mine, and he can't take any of it!"

She raised her chin, "And don't even think about the divorce, because I don't agree. He'll have to take legal proceedings against me. But he is a condemned prisoner. Do you think the guards will risk an escape by agreeing to his appearance in court? Even if they agree, I'm afraid he won't live to see a divorce decree!"

She was right.

The last time Jenny had just said it to scare her. Neither of which was practical. That was why she didn't mention it when she went to see her dad.

Jenny didn't say anything for a moment, and Hedy thought she'd been convinced.

She squinted, took out a card from a drawer, and handed it to her, "Jenny, I know you don't feel good. This is some compensation and affection to you from me, your stepmother. You keep it. I know you're capable. Whether you'll be the wife of the rich in the future or return to Country A to develop your business, you'll have a bright future."

This blessing sounded quite sincere. Jenny took the card and gave her a light smile, "How much compensation are you giving me, Mrs. Lane?"
