Chapter 17 Did You Say You Were Like A Pillar?

Standing at the front door of the Bliss Group, Jenny looked up at the large sign in gold letters, "Bliss Group Building", and had a momentary lapse of concentration.

The last time she had been here, she had probably been a teenager. She was in high school then, and she would go to the company to pick up her dad from work on weekends off.

All of a sudden, many years had passed.

She sighed softly and walked in.

As soon as she walked in, the receptionist at the company's front desk stopped her, "Miss, who are you looking for? Do you have an appointment?"

Jenny laughed bitterly.

Appointment?

She came to her own company and had to make an appointment!

She said patiently, "I'm Mason Lane's daughter."

The receptionist frowned, "Miss, please don't talk nonsense. Mr. Lane's daughter is a famous internet anchorwoman in our Capital City. Everyone in our company knows her well."

She hadn't been back for years. There might be very few old employees left in the company who could recognize her. People only knew Tracy Lane but didn't know her.

Jenny took out her ID card, "I'm Jenny Lane, Mr. Lane's daughter."

The receptionist at the front desk was getting impatient, "If you don't have an appointment, I can make one for you. If Mrs. Smith would like to see you, I can arrange a time for you in three months. But it's rude to impersonate someone else!"

Jenny held her breath, "You call Mrs. Smith in her office, and I'll talk to her myself."

The receptionist probably thought she'd met a psycho, "You're dressed like an educated person. Why are you so stubborn? Bliss Group is the number one entertainment group in Capital City. Is Mrs. Lane someone you can talk to whenever you want? Get out of here before I call security to kick you out! It's embarrassing."

Jenny was exasperated and laughed. An ordinary receptionist had quite a bit of pride in the company.

Hedy had really done much with the company in the last few years, and she might have cultivated a large number of cronies. It looked like it wasn't so easy for her to take the company over.

Just at this moment, a person walked out. The receptionist at the front desk greeted loudly and deliberately to please her, "Miss Lane!"

The receptionist at the front desk looked at Jenny with pride as she called her, which probably meant let me see how you could impersonate her when you see her in person!

She was wearing net celebrity makeup. Her foundation was thicker than wall skin, and she dressed herself up like a Barbie doll. And it was Tracy Lane!

She was here to see them. Tracy Lane arrived just in time.

Jenny snickered, "My good sister. It looks like you've run the company well!"

When Tracy saw her, she looked her up and down with contempt. Seeing that Jenny was wearing a simple black dress with almost no decoration on her and the bag she was carrying was also black, she taunted her, "Well, you are dressed so plainly. You're getting ready to wear the funeral dress so early?"

As soon as she heard her words, the receptionist knew she had just done the right thing. Although it looked as if they were really sisters, it was obvious that they didn't get along with each other well.

Jenny laughed, "I'm sorry, but my dress code is perfectly in line with the everyday professional attire of a female lawyer. You shouldn't find fault with your ignorance. You, on the other hand, are dressed so flamboyantly that people can't even tell what you really look like. If you were in ancient times, you might have managed to be a famous prostitute!"

Tracy had several cosmetic surgeries. She was currently quite confident in her looks.

She raised her chin proudly, "So what! Are you jealous of me for my looking better than you? Now I'm a popular anchorwoman who is famous all over the world. Even in ancient times, I was able to support an entire brothel by myself!"

So confident.

Jenny snorted, "Support a whole brothel? You mean you look like a pillar? Don't talk about yourself like that. But you are really like a pillar. If you tell any of your boyfriends that you're three or four months pregnant, you may obtain a sum of alimony with this waist. It's good to be an anchorwoman. Once you turn on the beauty camera, the audience can't see what your body looks like!"

The entertainment company belonged to her family, so of course, she had a lot of resources. Unfortunately, she couldn't sing well, and her acting was awkward. What was more, she looked fat with her short neck. She had looked for scripts and played several supporting roles. But she was scolded by the audience. That was why she found another way to become a webcast hostess.

Jenny poked her specifically in the face when she started to talk to her. Tracy was no match for her, and she was as angry as a fighting chicken.

Jenny laughed at her, "Don't be mad. Your neck is red. Don't squeeze your foundation out with a glare lest revealing the red face inside."

Tracy Lane pointed at her nose with irritation, "Don't you get cocky here. I don't know what else you have to be proud of. This place, the Bliss Group, has nothing to do with you anymore. If you don't know me, you wouldn't even be able to get in!"

Here she regained a little confidence, "So what if you're engaged to Sean! You've got nothing. To put it bluntly, you're a poor woman. Do you think this marriage will last long?"

She looked proudly at Jenny, "You don't even know what the company looks like now, do you? OK, come in with me. I'll show you how well the company is doing under my mom's leadership!"
