Chapter 22 I Get All those Things by My Own Efforts

Jenny had a busy day like a Prime Minister because of the procedural transfer of things given to her by her dad and dealing with a lot of trivia.

It was a good thing Grayson had gone to kindergarten in the past few days and didn't bother her much. She was able to find time to work on her own stuff.

Bliss Group business and her dad's business. All of them were important and were enough to keep her anxious for a few days.

Rushing from the traffic management station to the housing management bureau, Jenny closed her eyes for a short nap in the taxi.

Shirley followed her around.

As she sorted through the paperwork in the car, she said, "Miss, do you think Vivian is trustworthy?"

Without opening her eyes, Jenny said softly, "I'm a stranger to her. If she can help me this time, it's a godsend. But I've never done things relying on God, and I have to be fully prepared. I have to have a backup plan in case something goes wrong here with her."

Jenny had been meeting a lot of people over the past few days, and she was indeed prepared for anything.

As long as her supporters held more shares than Hedy's, by the time the shareholders' meeting was held, she could launch an attack on Hedyand take back the management of the company!

Shirley flipped to a file, looked it over again and said, "Miss, there's one more thing. I found out that there is still seven percent of Bliss Group's shares which we can't find, and the ultimate source may point to Roger's..."

7 percentage points.

Excluding the shares left behind by Jenny's parents and the shares controlled by Hedy and her daughter, 7 percentage points could be considered a lot of money.

If Sean had been on their side...

Jenny was a little bit tired, "As long as Sean stays quiet, it will be good. He's engaged to me after all and shouldn't help Tracy against me."

That seemed to be the point.

Shirley continued to sort through the information she was holding. Jenny closed her eyes and was soon asleep.

"No, no. Miss, look..."

She had only been asleep for a short time when Shirley called her in a rush, shaking her arm hard enough to wake her up.

Jenny yawned, "What's up? You are so hurried like being bitten by a ghost..."

"Scarier than a ghost. Miss, have a look at this on the news, Tracy Lane..."

As soon as she heard the name, Jenny subconsciously wanted to say no, and she interrupted her assistant, "If you have a lot of free time, you can play the puzzle game on your cellphone. Don't read entertainment news all the time. It's easy to lower your IQ..."

"Nope. Look, Miss. Tracy Lane is with...with Mr. Roger, and a lot of intimate photos have been released..."

Jenny frowned. Taking her cellphone, she did see Tracy Lane's plastic face on the screen. She pressed against Sean in a rather intimate gesture.

She looked at it for a few moments without reading any specific text reports and returned the cellphone to Shirley.

Shirley explained weakly, "Well... Miss, I didn't specifically read the entertainment news. It was a headline that popped up automatically. I only clicked on it when I saw Mr. Roger's name..."

Well, she had gotten a headline pop-up. So, it looked like Tracy had really put some effort into it.

Jenny reached out and pressed her hand to her temple.

Shirley was worried, "Miss, how could Mr. Roger do this to you? You have just announced that you've been engaged, how can he..."

Well, poor Miss. How did she meet such an unreliable fiancé?

If he did help Tracy Lane at the shareholders' meeting, what would Miss do!

Jenny didn't seem so worried compared to her, and she held up a hand to stop the rest of her sentence.

"I didn't get enough sleep last night. I'll sleep some more. Wake me when we get there."

...

As the days passed, Jenny left home early in the morning and came home late at night. Sean was also a workaholic... Although she still lived at Roger's villa, they seldom met each other.

Only Grayson could see her several times every day. Jenny tried to find time to play with the little guy.

Soon it was the day of the shareholders' meeting that she had arranged with Hedy.

Jenny arrived at the Bliss Group building once again in a very regal white wide-legged ladies' suit with Shirley.

The receptionist at the front desk already knew that Jenny was going to make an appearance at the shareholders' meeting and ushered her upstairs.

Today's meeting was unusual. All but Jenny, Hedy and her daughter, were minority shareholders. They only had two-percent shares in total, but they were all there. They all focused on the property battle between Mr. Lane's daughter and his step-wife & stepdaughter.

Hedy and Tracy were already seated in the conference room.

Tracy snickered as she applied her nail polish, "My good sister doesn't dare to come today, does she? Forty-five percent of the shares, huh?"

She didn't know they had a secret weapon!

It was at this moment that Jenny had opened the door and walked in.

Hedy looked confident too with some sarcasm, "Jenny, your father was sentenced to death for a horrible crime of cruelty and brutality. He is a disgrace to our Bliss Group. I offered you compensation, but you refused to accept it. Will you be happy to cause turmoil in the company?"

In front of the minority shareholders, Hedy made the first move. She took the moral high ground first so she could make anything Jenny said seem like nonsense.

Shame...heh!

Jenny laughed, "Mrs. Lane, you called my father a disgrace. If you hadn't married that disgrace, you'd still have been working as a junior employee somewhere. The million-yuan necklace around your neck and the hundreds of thousands of yuan worth of watch on your hand were bought by that disgrace, and I think you still wear them proudly."

"You..."

Hedy blushed at her retort and snapped harshly, "Although it started out because of him, all these years later, I've earned everything on my own merit and hard work!"

Jenny took a seat across from her, "If potholes and ingenuity are skills, then I'm really ashamed of your skills."

She took the information from Shirley behind her, "First of all, the Bliss Group is the company my father and mother founded when they got married. Until my mother's death, she was the general manager of the company and took the company from a small, unknown business to one of Capital City's premier listed companies."

Against Hedy, she would have to go out of her way to dismiss her outright and fundamentally.

"Secondly, here are the Bliss Group's financial profit and loss statements for the last ten years. Last year's turnover growth rate was -5.86% compared to the year of my mother's death. Since Mrs. Lane started as General Manager, the company has achieved three consecutive years of negative growth. Your efforts have not been in vain!"

Hedy wasn't afraid of that comment of hers. She snorted, "You're a good one. You even got the company's financial statements."

She squinted and laughed lightly, "I'll admit that your mother has made a lot of contribution to the company, but that's not you. I think that you have no experience in running a company. As the saying goes, it's easy to start a business but hard to keep it."

She looked around and continued, "There are many factors that affect a company's profitability, including the annual economic situation and market situation, as well as national policies, etc. It's not as simple as you said just now. As long as the company isn't in huge turmoil, it means there's nothing wrong with what I'm doing!"
