Chapter 23 Share fraud

For a time the debate reached an impasse with no clear winner or loser.

Jenny stood up, "Since neither of us can persuade each other on this issue, let's use our rights."

She took the file packet from Shirley's hand, "This is my Certificate of shareholding. I have my father's fifteen percent of the shares and my mother's thirty percent under my name. There's another six percent that I purchased from somewhere else, which adds up to fifty-one percent in total."

She looked to Hedy, "Fifty-one percent is already a definite advantage. Therefore, Ms. Hedy, today as the largest shareholder of the Bliss Group with fifty-one percent of the shares in my hand, I am exercising my right to demand your resignation as General Manager."

Tracy finally got her all nails painted. She looked askance at Jenny, "You still have fifty-one percent of the shares? I hope it's not a forgery that you've fabricated to fool us, is it?"

Since she was asking to be humiliated, Jenny chose to scare her off and make her withdraw before difficulties in public, so that she would be disgraced in the entire Bliss Group, even in the whole Capital City, in which situation she would have no choice but to go hide abroad.

Shirley couldn't bear to watch anymore, "Tracy, don't you dare sling mud at us!"

Tracy suddenly chuckled, "Let's have it verified and we'll see."

She also took out her files from her secretary, "Here's my share certificate and my mom's certificate--my mom has twenty-five percent, plus my fifteen percent, which makes it forty percent."

She smiled and reached out her newly-painted scarlet nails to Jenny and pressed them on the share certificate document.

"As far as I can recall, there's another six percent of the company's shares in Miss Vivian's possession which was awarded to her as bonuses for her contributions to the company over the years. How could she possibly transfer something so important to you?"

She picked up the document and ran it over, "This one of yours is fake."

After saying that, she threw the document directly onto the table, "Jenny, I have to say that your deeds are really nasty. I can't believe you forged the supporting documents while Miss Vivian was away from the company, lying that the six percent of the shares have been transferred to you!"

All the other shareholders looked at each other in consternation. An elderly one of them took the six-percent-share certificate over and scrutinized it several times, "It seems like... it seems like it's really a fake one... "

Tracy who turned smugger and smugger pinched up two fingers and whistled at the door.

Upon her whistling, the conference room's door was flung open and a young woman came in with a graceful demeanor.

It was Vivian.

Jenny paled, "Vivian, aren't you flying out of town on this morning's flight for the play's opening ceremony?"

Vivian smiled. When she smiled, her eyes were all amorous, and her gestures were so elegant with all the grace of an A-list superstar.

"The director changed his plans at the last minute today, saying that he had some other plans and telling me to go again tomorrow, so I'm back here."

She cast a look at Jenny, then took out a file folder from her bag, "Here's my six-percent-share certificate. Feel free to check it. The one in Ms. Lane's hand... I'm afraid it is a fake one, right?"

She could go so far as to...

Shirley's eyes widened and she was an-inch close to pounce on her, "I can't believe it, Vivian. And you call yourself a public figure. How dare you!"

Jenny gently squeezed her hand, motioning her to take it easy.

All the eyes were fixed on Jenny now--so many pairs of eyes; so many mouths; everyone began to whisper.

Jenny looked at her somewhat sadly, "So you are telling me, you take side with CEO Smith with your six-percent of share?"

Vivian looked at Jenny with her big beautiful eyes, "Of course! As a contracted actress of the Bliss Group, and also, an employee of the company, I would certainly defend and support our company's leadership!"

Jenny asked once again relentlessly, "So, you came to me and told me about transferring your shares to me for only one yuan—all of that was sheerly a lie?"

Vivian laughed out loud as if she had heard something hilarious "Ms. Lane, it's well-known that six percent of the shares of the Bliss Group are worth at least several hundred million in the market. You know it as well. You offered me one RMB to buy it—one RMB—are you kidding me? What currency are you using, moon dollars?"

Being betrayed was hard.

Jenny didn't take any of Hedy's words or Tracy's taunts to heart at all. She had seen so much raid and grabbing as well as kicking someone down when she was a lawyer that she thought she had turned cold-blooded.

However, the person she tried to treat as a friend sincerely cheated on her in return.

It felt like she gave out her heart in the hope of being treated with another open heart, but got stabbed right in her flesh in return.

Seeing Jenny's shocked face, Tracy took out a small mirror to do some touch-up triumphantly, "What does she have to be proud of as a woman who even has to fake her shares!"

Hedy saw the thing had been basically settled down so she cleared her throat and said with seeming grief, "Jenny, I didn't expect you would do forgery about the shares! Even if you want to join the board as a major shareholder, we still have veto power over you. There's impossible for someone as dishonest as you to be able to get supported!"

The mother and daughter, singing a duet, were so happy to see Jenny to be defeated completely so soon.

Just then, a deep voice suddenly sounded behind her, "Her shares aren't fake!"
