Chapter 2 The Engagement Party
Five years later...
The road around the Universal Building in T City was jammed with celebrities, entertainment media, and business giants coming together in crowds.
Leon Scott, the young master of the Scott Family, would get engaged with the electronics tycoon's daughter this day.
At this moment, all the dressed-up guests were talking and laughing cheerfully on the 88th floor of the building. The pleasant music, mellow champagne, and gorgeous floral arrangements made the hall full of an incredibly romantic vibe.
As the couple showed up, all the guests turned to look at them.
Leon was wearing a silvery grey couture suit, with an imposing and dominating figure of about 190 centimeters. His eyes were sharp, his nose was high-bridged, his lips were moderately thin, his face was clear-cut, and his brows were high above the ridges, giving off his standoffish, proud nature.
At this moment, his obsidian-like eyes were glowing with rays of unfathomable light.
He was a God's favored one with handsome appearance and a medical family background. He was known as a genius of both the medical field and the business field, whose pair of hands could kill or save people.
Rumor had it that he was admitted to the world's top university at the age of fourteen, graduated at the age of sixteen with the highest grades in the school, founded an entertainment company at the age of eighteen, purchased an island ranked among the top ten in the world at the age of twenty with his personally acquired assets, and officially took over the Scott Family medical industry empire at the age of twenty-one...
"Hey, lady, you can't go in without an invitation."
"Let me in, please. I need to get inside. Mr. Scott, Leon Scott, I have to see him. Please allow me in..."
The sound of a woman pleading abruptly smashed the harmonious atmosphere in the hall, and those guests turned to see the woman breaking in the room with a sharp fruit knife in hand.
Sophia was in a pair of jeans, a simple T-shirt, and cheap but cleanly brushed sneakers. Her eyes and rows were picturesque, her skin was porcelain-white, and she had a pretty, smooth face, with long, waist-length black hair casually tied up by a hair band.
Just then, a graceful woman, whose face bore some resemblance to Leon's, walked up to Sophia. She was Mrs. Brown, Leon's mother.
"What's the matter?"
"Madam, this woman asked to enter the venue to see Mr. Scott, but she didn't have an invitation, so we stopped her, and she threatened us with her own life, so..." If it were an usual occasion, the bodyguards would have already captured Sophia, not caring whether she was dead or alive.
However, they were on a special occasion as there were many media present. If they risked causing a scene, they were afraid that it might bring damages to the Scott Family's reputation.
"A bunch of useless things." Mrs. Brown rebuked the bodyguard, looked at Sophia and asked, "Who are you?"
Sophia was wearing a panicked expression, and her gorgeous, starry eyes scanned the entire venue, searching for the figure she was looking for as if she did not hear Mrs. Brown's question.
All of a sudden, her eyes lit up.
The man standing in the middle of the hall distinguished himself from the others by his outstanding aura. Also, he was looking at Sophia with his sharp eyes. It was him that Sophia was hunting for.
It was Leon Scott.
Before coming here, she had already checked his information and knew his features. She could not be wrong.
Sophia tried to walk over to the man with an excited step but someone stopped her.
She looked at the person who stopped her with a pitiful expression on her face, imploring, "Please let me see Mr. Scott. It won't take too long. Please give me ten minutes. Just ten minutes."
Just as her words fell, a bodyguard took advantage of her distraction and grabbed her by the wrist. Sophia cried out in pain, her hand loosened, and the knife fell to the ground.
Then, she got caught, and those bodyguards dragged her to head out of the venue.
She cried and struggled but to no avail. In a moment of helplessness, she had to tilt her head to look at Leon, shouting, "Mr. Scott, Mr. Scott."
