Chapter 6 She Fainted
The vehicle stopped abruptly.
The screech of brakes reached Sophia's ears.
She opened her eyes, ignoring the violent pounding of her heart, and took a quick step towards the car. As soon as she reached it, the door opened, and the bouncer and driver got off the vehicle to stop her.
"Who are you?"
Sophia stared at the inside of the car through the window but could not see anything.
"Is Mr. Scott in the car? I want to see him."
The bodyguard said with a fierce expression on his face, "Mr. Scott is not someone you can see as you wish. Get out of here right now. Otherwise, don't blame me for being rude."
Sophia ignored him and gazed at the car window unblinkingly, shouting, "Mr. Scott, please save my daughter. Save my daughter. I'm begging you..."
At this moment, the window was lowered slowly, revealing Leon's cold, stern face.
He looked at Sophia and said coldly, "It's you again."
"Mr. Scott, I know it's wrong of me to do so, but I really have no choice. It's the only way I can see you..."
Before the woman could finish her sentence, Leon ordered the bodyguard impatiently, "Drag her away."
"No, please show some mercy and save my daughter." Sophia had been waiting for about three hours and was worn out. However, Leon was unwilling to bring her any hope whatsoever, making her long waiting meaningless. In her haste, she actually lowered her head to bite the bouncer's hand.
Instinctively, the bodyguard shook Sophia off. As his strength was so mighty that the woman fell straight to the ground.
"Ouch!" Sophia landed on her hands and bruised her delicate skin. However, she was too desperate to care for herself and hurried to get up. All of a sudden, she felt dizzy, and her eyes went black. It took her several seconds to gradually regain her normal sight.
She got up from the ground and tried to approach Leon again, but the bodyguard caught her with ease.
"Mr. Scott..." Sophia yelled. Suddenly, she blacked out, and her body softened.
The bodyguard hurried to hold the woman and tilted his head to look at Leon in the car, waiting for him to give instructions.
Just then, two reporters holding cameras showed up out of nowhere. With a gloomy look in his eyes, Leon lifted his chin and said to the bouncer, "Get in the car."
The bodyguard picked up Sophia, swiftly put her in the vehicle, and then got inside as well.
It was pleasantly cool...
It was really comfortable...
While the stifling heat was replaced by coolness, Sophia opened her eyes gradually with furrowed brows.
After being dazed for a moment, she then realized that she was sitting in the car, and Leon was right next to her.
Her heart trembled in shock. "Mr. Scott."
Sophia wondered why she was in the vehicle and soon recalled that she had blacked out earlier. And she guessed that it was because she did not eat or sleep well these days, and she had just been exposed to the sun for hours.
Seeing that the woman was awake, Leon signaled the driver to pull over the car to the curb. Sophia covered her head immediately, saying, "My apologies, but I'm still feeling terribly sick and dizzy. Could you allow me to stay in the car for a while longer?"
Leon saw right through Sophia's silly trick.
He flipped over the document in his hand, saying, "Get out of the car, and don't come to me again."
At the man's words, Sophia glared at him, biting her bottom lip and clenching her hands into fists.
Noticing that the woman maintained motionless, Leon added, "Don't make me say it twice."
While speaking, he had been reading the document, ignoring Sophia completely.
Sophia somehow nerved herself to reach out and grab the file from Leon's hand, and the man was slightly surprised as he had not expected the woman to do so at all.
He cast an annoyed glance at the woman, and at the same time, Sophia said, "Mr. Scott, it may be rude of me to say this, but I must say it."
Leon furrowed his dashing brows, and those familiar with him knew that his frown was a sign of the outburst of his wrath.
