Chapter 9 Is the Girl Leon's Daughter?
At this moment, Sophia heard the host on television say, "Though the engagement ceremony ended awkwardly, it had still vividly demonstrated President Scott's great charm. Not only the young lady of a wealthy and influential family was willing to marry him, there was another pretty woman who was too jealous to bear President Scott's getting engaged that she even destroyed the engagement party. How many single people would feel jealous of..."
At those words, Sophia was utterly stunned.
Too jealous?
Those people were too imaginative.
Sophia snapped the TV off, lifted her head to face Alice, and noticed the playful look in her eyes.
She instantly raised her hands in surrender. "Well, he did kiss me, but it was just an accident."
In fact, Leon kissed her with no warning, and she was actually a victim.
Alice grabbed her arm and asked curiously, "What did it feel like to be kissed by him? He's super handsome!"
Sophia glared at Alice. "If you want to know what it feels like, go find him yourself and let him kiss you."
Alice covered her cheeks coyly. "No kidding. I'll save my first kiss for my future husband."
Sophia said nothing else but turned to enter the bathroom for a shower.
She had to pester Leon the next day.
...
Sophia stood outside the parking lot with an umbrella in hand, looking up at the torrential downpour falling from the sky. With the wind blowing at her wildly, she could do nothing but let out a deep sigh.
It was burning hot last day and pouring this day. The weather showed no mercy to her at all.
The rain was too heavy that even though Sophia was holding an umbrella, her sneakers and pants still got soaked. She kept looking at the exit, hoping that Leon would appear soon.
Fortunately, Leon's vehicle showed up in a short while. Upon seeing the car, Sophia rushed over to it.
As it was raining, the driver dared not drive too fast. Noticing someone rushing over, he immediately stepped on the brakes. Through the windshield, he saw Sophia and turned to report it to Leon, "Mr. Scott, it's that woman again."
At the driver's words, Leon lifted his eyes to look outside. Through the window blurred by the rain, he could only see a vague, slender figure approaching.
Harry Hunter, sitting next to Leon, was puzzled by the situation and tilted his head to ask, "Which woman?"
At this moment, someone knocked on the window. Harry looked out and immediately recognized Sophia.
He narrowed his pretty eyes, stroked his shoulder-length baby hair elegantly, and said, "Leon, she is now the object of your gossip. Are you getting serious with her?"
"Shut up!"
To Leon, this woman was like a ghost haunting him.
Harry clicked his tongue. Then, Leon said to the driver, "Keep going. Ignore her."
The car drove right past Sophia.
"Don't go, Mr. Scott. Leon Scott!" Regardless of being drenched by the rain, Sophia trotted to catch up with the vehicle. At this moment, a group of paparazzi showed up from nowhere and stopped her.
Sophia froze, not understanding what was going on, as several questions were thrown at her at the same time.
"Are you Leon's lover? Does the fact that he called off his engagement to the electronics mogul's daughter for you mean that he's serious about you?"
Calling off the engagement for her? Being serious about her? How could those people put forward such stupid questions? Did they mean to insult her?
Did these people simply not see how Leon's car drove away from her? If she were his lover, how could she have been treated like this?
Could not they ask questions with their brains?
"Miss Hill, could you tell us how you and Leon got to know each other?"
Sophia grasped the point and turned to the reporter who had just asked the question. "How do you know my last name is Hill?"
Had these guys checked her out already?
"From what I've been told, you have a daughter but you've never got married. Is that child Leon Scott's?"
