Chapter 17 No need to dwell in the past
Ethan Rogers saw Vicky Rogers stood behind the tree, lost in her thoughts. He left when she didn't notice him. After he left Vicky somewhat came to her senses and walked towards the bench where Ethan were sitting. She sat on the bench and looked at the other families like Ethan.
"It is so good to see those families happy" she thought herself.
She imagined herself to have such a happy smile on her son's face. In her imagination she saw a silhouette of a man and a little girl with Ethan, they were talking and playing happily. But as soon as Ethan turned around his smile stopped and he rose one his eyebrows up as if he was asking her,
" We both don't have fathers..! Don't you want me to have one..?? Do you want me end up like you..?"
Vicky shook her head to shake those imagination. He would never ask her these questions. Then she murmured in a whisper that,
"I am really a bad omen for those who are around me. My father left me even before I have my sense, my mother is dead, my marriage... hmm.. it's a tragedy.. and the soul I carried in my womb for ten months left me too.."
Vicky subconsciously touched her belly and thought about her newborn baby girl. She didn't notice the man who sat beside her as soon as she sit on the bench. He sat there silently and been listening to her story. He even stare at the men who tried to approach her. The he heard her saying,
" She also left me thinking that I might have bad influence on her.. am I not deserve to be happy..? "
Vicky lost very deeply in her thoughts and found the bench shake a little. When she turned to her side there was a handkerchief and a small note. She looked up to see who left these here. But all she could see was a backside of a man.
She felt him familiar by his silhouette but forgot where she saw him. She read the note,
" No need to dwell in the past.. Everything happens for a reason.."
The corner of her mouth raised up into a small smile and she felt so comforting to read those words. She looked up to see him again but he was nowhere to see. Then she touched the handkerchief at the same time her cheeks.
She sighed and removed her tears using the kerchief. She held the note firmly and made a decision.
" No matter what, I will never hurt Ethan and I will do everything to make him happy..." With that she left the park.
A man inside the car saw her retreating figure and smiled at her. He said himself,
"I will see you soon.."
