Chapter 4 Finally I Found You

The Gorilla Group was her grandfather's legacy passed on to her mother. After her mother passed away, she was the successor, but the company was stolen away by her father, Wilson Johnson, and her stepmother, Holly Bowen. Two years ago, she came back to reclaim the company, but an accident stymied her plan. Now, she was poised to get back what was rightfully hers.

Steve looked serious after hearing her out. Deep down, he knew that Gorilla Group was founded by Elisa's grandfather and should belong to her.

"According to inside story, Gorilla Group has been operating in debt, but its current condition is not clear." He mused.

Basing on his business experience, he analyzed, "If the operation of Gorilla Group hasn't improved, it should be in crisis. In that case, it's easy to buy its shares or buy it out. Then you can get back the company with no difficulty."

"But I still need to verify the details." He added.

Hearing him out, Elisa was comparatively satisfied with such an uncertain result and got her own plan, "Okay, help me check and verify it. Once you get in contact with Gorilla, help me acquire the shares or the company. I need full control of Gorilla."

"Okay, consider it done." Aware of her ultimate goal, Steve nodded his head.

"Thank you, Steve." Elisa said sincerely, appreciating his prompt consent.

After the business talk, Steve looked relaxed and dandiacal again. He picked up her gratitude, "Little beauty, this is not the kind of gratitude I want. How about... you follow me?"

"Dream on." Elisa rejected immediately, taking his speech as just a joke.

Then she steered the conversation away from the topic, "I'll get two glasses of wine to celebrate the reunion."

Following her words, she rose to get the wine.

Steve wanted to ask the waiter to serve it and had to give up at the sight of the leaving figure.

Elisa came to a long table in the near distance. There were desserts, various wines, and goblets. Elisa knew that the arrangement was to cater to the guests' preferences. They could pour their favorite wine.

She looked at the row of vintage wine and suddenly noticed two filled cups next to a bottle of wine. She wondered if the waiter had them filled so that the guests could directly take them.

Without further ado, she picked up the filled cups, turned around, and walked back toward Steve.

But not long after she walked away, a woman with heavy make-up came to the table, looked around, but couldn't find the cup of drugged wine. In anger, the woman stomped her feet and snarled, "Who took away my special mixed wine? Darn it, my pill is wasted."

...

Elisa sat back next to Steve and handed a glass of wine to him.

Under the dim light, they didn't notice the difference in color depth between the two cups of wine. The wine in Elisa's cup was darker.

"Steve, a toast to you, thank you for the help." Elisa took the initiative to clink the glasses with him.

"Welcome back to South City and feel free to tell me if you need anything." Steve said.

"Mm." Elisa hummed with gratitude. They exchanged looks and tossed off the little amount of wine.

Then she talked with Steve about business. In a short while, she suddenly felt uncomfortable, parched, and dizzy. Was she drunk because she hadn't drunk wine for a long time?

Realizing that, she considered the situation and decided to go. Her poor condition was not suitable for the occasion, especially when Steve was around.

Therefore, she excused herself, "Steve, I still have unfinished business and should go. Let's hang out another day."

Steve thought she really had business and thus nodded his head, "Mm, okay, it happens I need to see someone."

He overheard that his little uncle also attended the party and decided to greet him. After all, his little uncle was now at the helm of his grandfather's company.

"Keep in touch." He added.

"Mm." Elisa hummed and nodded. Just now, they had exchanged contact information. After saying goodbye, Elisa took her leave.

She walked out of the party venue, headed to the parking lot, but felt more uncomfortable. Her sense told her that she shouldn't drive in such a condition, so she planned to find a hotel nearby to stay for the night. After the hangover was gone tomorrow, she would go to Elite Group.

She made the decision and check in at Rhine Hotel, a five-star hotel next to the party venue. Then she took the room card and headed to a luxury suite on the 35th floor for a rest.

...

In the party venue, Martin and Victor were sitting a quiet corner seat. Both men drunk a lot and got tipsy.

"Are you going back to South Lake later?" Victor looked at Martin and asked slowly, "You shouldn't drive in such a condition. Why don't you stay in the hotel nearby?"

After all, Rhine Hotel was owned by Jimenes Group. As long as Martin wanted it, he could have a presidential suite.

"Mm." Martin hummed. At that moment, he didn't really want to return to South Lake Villa.

Then he took out his cell phone, called the hotel manager, and told him about his stay later that night. Respectfully the manager promised to reserve a presidential suite.

Martin finished the call and put away his phone when a voice came over.

"Martin, finally I found you." Steve said excitedly while walking towards Martin.
