Chapter 9 Howard, I had a Stomachache

Summer really regrated it. Right after getting out of a wolf's den, she went into a tiger's cave.

Summer, Summer, you were in such bad luck!

Not ready to give up, Amanda stared at the silent couple and continued to ask with a smile, "So, when are you planning to go through the procedures?"

"Er… well…"

Summer swallowed, coughed dryly, kicked Howard gently under the table, and waited for his response.

Howard wiped his mouth with a warm towel and replied coldly, "In ten days, I'll get the marriage license and go through the procedures with the lawyer."

Ten days?

Then he gently held the dumbfounded Summer and dropped a kiss on her forehead, "Since you have stomach problems, you shouldn't eat much at night. I'll ask Felicity to warm up a glass of milk for you later."

Summer cursed him inwardly.

What the hell? Who had stomach problems? My appetite was terrific! I didn't eat anything all day. If your mother didn't ask me a battery of questions, I should have gobbled down the ten dishes!

As she made no response, Howard took the chopsticks from her hand, wiped her mouth carefully with a towel, and muttered, "You got food all over your mouth."

"I've never seen such a tender and considerate side from the young master of the Tran family." Amanda teased.

Summer knew that the play was too dramatic and a bit derailed.

"I'll do it myself." She laughed dryly and desperately.

"Summer and I will go to Bali tomorrow morning." Howard sat down with satisfaction and a faint smile.

Bali?

What kind of drama was this? Improvisation?

"Oh, going on a tour and getting the marriage license in ten days…" Amanda paused and mused.

"You should make an appointment with Summer's parents. The seniors need to discuss the wedding date and other details. We should see if her parents have any requests. It is etiquette."

Howard was really a wise man. No matter how Amanda tried to sound him out and make things difficult, he remained composed, "Wait till her graduation, about two years to go, no rush."

"What? Delaying the wedding for two years?" Stunned, Amanda stood up emotionally.

As the drama went completely out of the storyline, Summer only wanted to finish the thrilling dinner as soon as possible.

Remembering that Howard forbad her to eat with the excuse of her stomach problems, Summer hurriedly covered her stomach, frowned, and groaned in a low voice, "Howard, I have a stomachache."

"Summer's stomach is upset. I should take her to the room for a rest."

Howard temporized coldly.

Following his words, he scooped her up, headed to the elevator, and instructed, "Felicity, have the stomach medicine and hot milk sent to the room."

He even asked for stomach medicine. What a great play! I saluted to you!

Summer was so anxious with the confrontations at the dining table that a cold sweat broke out. It was a duel of intelligence and acting skills.

She didn't eat much from the table full of dishes, and now her stomach was gurgling a protest.

She was full of grievances. Would a glass of hot milk satisfy her stomach?

"Howard, put me down!" As soon as they got into the elevator, Summer struggled vigorously.

"Don't move." No longer gentle, Howard snapped.

Following his cold gaze, Summer turned her head sideways, looked out of the transparent elevator door, saw Amanda looking in their direction curiously, and then quieted down obediently.
