Chapter 13 CEO's Contract
"Change this term into both parties shall not have non-consensual sex. This would protect both parties."
Howard's serious, handsome, and cold face was really annoying.
With disdain, she muttered, "You think too much, conceited maniac!" But her hand modified the term obediently.
"Second, hmm… after getting the license, I'll still go to school and live there as usual. So, this matter cannot be disclosed." Summer bit pen cap and said seriously.
"No disclosure is fine, but we should live together."
Following his words, Howard got up, walked to the floor-to-ceiling windows, and looked out into the darkness. There seemed to be something on his mind, but he looked peaceful.
"Living together? Reason?" Summer complained.
"No reason."
"Argh… I should think twice about this term."
Summer looked away with dissatisfaction, "Forget it, you have a problem with everything I mentioned. You bring up the terms, and I'll supplement them."
"The duration is tentatively set at two years. This is all my request."
Howard still said in a bland tone as if this didn't concern him.
"Wait, well… you have so much fortune… don't you need a section about it?"
Summer ventured to ask. It was a lot of money after all. Didn't he care about it at all?
"Two years later, if you want to leave, I'll give you a blank cheque. Write down any amount you like. Rest early."
Without waiting for her response, he took out a quilt from the closet and lay down on the sofa with his back toward her.
After discussing the contract, Summer lost sleep.
The silent couple kept their eyes open, thinking about their separate problems.
Summer tried to sort out her thoughts about what happened today. Howard, CEO of Transcendent Group, needed the marriage license to obtain 42% shares and then could sign an important project contract. She had to face her father's gambling debts. After running away from the wedding, she didn't know about the current situation with her family.
She stared at the black screen of her cell phone and did not dare to turn it on.
He required a two-year duration and that they should live together, why?
Was he afraid that Amanda would sense anything wrong? After he got the shares, would he still fear it being laid bare? Was there any other reason? Hmm… these questions were so hard. While considering, she drifted off to sleep…
The scene of Summer coming out of the shower kept spinning in his head, and he lost sleep.
The morning sunlight slanted in through the floor-to-ceiling windows. When Summer rubbed her sleepy eyes, Howard was already dressed up and sitting on the sofa quietly reading a magazine.
"I had a set of clothes sent over. It's in the cloakroom. Wash up and come down. I'll wait downstairs. Have your breakfast in the car."
Without a glance at her, Howard finished his speech coldly and then went downstairs.
The car already started. A security guard pulled open the door and bent over to wait.
"Madam, goodbye."
Summer hurriedly washed up, got dressed up, rushed downstairs, and bade goodbye cheerfully.
Amanda's 'leaving so soon' echoed in the air.
In this horrible villa, the mother and son were pretentious, and they were a fake couple. So, she should leave the sooner the better.
Summer got in the car and finished breakfast. During the period, Howard did not say a word.
In her heart, she was considering how to bring up her idea of having further talk about the contract from yesterday. How could she be so careless to marry a stranger?
"Well… Mr. Tran, yesterday we talked about…"
