Chapter 15 Not Biological Daughter
Summer looked at the flickering characters 'operating room' and fidgeted.
Because of the organ infection, Susan was receiving urgent surgery.
Finally, a nurse came out.
"Susan, how is Susan?"
She nervously grabbed the nurse by the sleeve like her last straw.
"Bleeding is excessive. The blood bank is out of the blood. We're requiring an urgent transfer."
The nurse sounded anxious.
"Me! Draw my blood. I'm a match." Summer hurriedly rolled up her sleeve and asserted.
"Okay, go for a blood test first."
Donald Pratt was once injured and hospitalized. She knew that his blood type didn't match hers.
However, the result of the blood test blew her mind. Susan was a B blood type while she was an A.
Her blood type didn't match Susan's either.
Distraught, Summer went to the doctor's office with the test result in her hand.
"Dr. Holt, is it possible that… a father with O blood type and a mother with B blood type have a daughter with A blood type?" She asked with difficulty.
"Biogenetically speaking, it's not possible. If you're not sure, you can do a DNA test."
"That won't be necessary."
Summer feebly waved her hand and left.
She believed that she was not their biological daughter.
Donald often got drunk, hit and cursed her when he returned home as if there was an irreconcilable deep animosity between them.
She would always curl up and grit her teeth. When she couldn't take it anymore, she would snarl, "Since you hate me so much, why do you bring me to this world?"
Her mother would stare at her in a long daze and look away in a panic when their gazes met.
The old couple didn't care about her and often cried on each other's shoulder late at night in common sympathy.
When Susan occasionally applied medicine to her wounds, she would just whisper, "Don't blame your dad."
Summer always thought her birth was a mistake. Everyone was unhappy with her.
Even a vicious tiger would not eat its cubs. If she was a biological daughter, how would Donald marry her off to a man about his age?
Howard was flipping through the files of the cooperation project when Mark tapped on the door and got in.
"Mr. Tran, a test report faxed from the hospital."
Howard glanced at the test results highlighted by Dr. Holt, snorted, and curled up his lips, "No wonder she was forced to get married. Turns out they are not related by blood."
Looked like he was overcautious back then. This woman really didn't deliberately show up at his wedding.
"How long is our trip this time?" He knitted his brows and asked after a moment of silence.
"Seven days in total." The assistant asserted.
"Too long, adjust the agenda, I'm going home to get married in three days."
"G… getting married?"
"Give Summer some pressure, and that Lodge." Howard smiled wickedly.
"Miss Pratt, Dr. Holt is looking for you."
A nurse came over, patted Summer who was dozing off, and said softly.
Turned out it was already the next morning.
"I'm calling you here to tell you the deadline for the medical expenses incurred from your father's rescue and your mother's treatment. You need to pay it by the day after tomorrow, otherwise, we have to suspend the medication."
"I see, I see." Summer nodded repeatedly with embarrassment, "Dr. Holt, I…"
The doctor cut her short mercilessly and handed her a pile of bills, "This is the list, go collect the money."
